Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with a fabulous update for you on the blog! It’s post number 7092, and guess what?! I’m taking you to Braintree, Essex for a whirlwind journey that’s bursting with colour, dance, and all the glitz and glamour you could ever imagine. 💖✨
This town has such a sweet, gentle air, much like a delicate, flowing tutu. And I just knew, as I rode into town on my trusty steed – that’s right, a gorgeous black steed! – that this would be a perfect stop on my pink tutu tour! I was off to perform at a local charity fair, and I couldn’t wait to see the joy in the eyes of the children and the joy on their parents' faces, I just know a tutu brings a bit of magic to everyone. Even the fellas were looking at me with dazzled looks - a pink tutu definitely sparks an inner joy! 😄💖
My day began, as usual, with a fabulous, pink-hued breakfast, courtesy of my dear friend Amelia. Amelia is a true treasure – not just because she cooks the most delicious breakfasts but also because she’s a true kindred spirit. She understands that pink tutus are about so much more than just feathers and fabric. It’s about expression, joy, and daring to be different. We laughed over a plate of fluffy pancakes and a glass of bright pink grapefruit juice. “Let’s turn the world pink, Amelia!” I said with a giggle, “We need a tutu revolution, darling!” And I believe, with every fibre of my sparkly, sequinned being, that she agreed. 💖🌸
I'm obsessed with shopping. A bit of a retail therapy queen, am I! Especially for tutus, fabrics, sparkly, feathered and flowery garments, I think you’ll agree. Luckily for me, Braintree is an absolute wonderland when it comes to retail therapy, and I went completely wild in the town’s shopping centre, snapping up all sorts of delights to add to my collection – sequined headdresses, iridescent stockings and a tutu in the most vibrant, fiery magenta you’ve ever seen! It felt absolutely fabulous 💖
After a day of indulging my retail desires, I felt truly ready to perform my heart out. The Braintree fair was bustling, full of excited children, parents, and plenty of interested onlookers, and you can imagine how thrilled they were to see me sashay down the stage in my favourite blush pink tutu, a swirl of glitter, and a smile that could melt a snowman. It's an expression of true happiness, being able to take that joy on stage.
I can still see their faces – those delighted, surprised expressions. A pink tutu, in its pure and innocent charm, has such a remarkable effect on people! A perfect antidote to the daily grind, a splash of colour, a touch of joy in an otherwise ordinary day, and everyone loves it! The music thumped, the lights shone, and as the song hit its climax, I did a full twirl, the pink tutu twirling in a majestic whirlwind around me – It truly is a spectacle! I’d forgotten how magical Braintree was! I know that pink tutus spread so much love, so much fun! 😄💕
Afterwards, we had a little picnic in the park with a delicious strawberry picnic (pink is such a recurring theme in my life!) where I signed autographs and shared tips with other drag queens. There were a couple of beautiful local queens performing, with dazzling stage makeup and equally enchanting tutus - the energy was electrifying! But really, it's not just about the tutus, is it? It’s about the message – to be bold, to be beautiful, and to embrace your uniqueness, no matter how whimsical or sparkly. 💖
To wrap up this exciting Braintree day, I took a gentle walk down the main street to grab some hot chips with salt and vinegar, and soak up the lovely evening air. There's something quite lovely about a little wander around a beautiful old town. I’ve never felt more alive. More me, more glamorous, more sparkly.
