Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, and this is post number 7120! Today, we're venturing into the enchanting town of Ashton, nestled in the heart of England! I'm so excited, you have no idea, because you know what's about to happen, don't you? That's right, we're on another tutu-ific journey, and today's mode of transport is none other than the glamorous, glorious train! 🚄
Before we delve into this dazzling trip, a little reminder: my aim in life, you know, aside from inspiring the world to wear pink tutus, is to encourage everyone to explore! It doesn't matter if it's the bustling streets of London or a quaint little village nestled in the countryside – each location has its own magic just waiting to be discovered!
Now, back to our fabulous journey! My day started like any other - with a good ol' cup of tea, a delicious breakfast of pancakes (topped with sprinkles, of course!), and, naturally, a quick spin in my wardrobe to pick the perfect pink tutu. Today, I chose a blush-pink dream with layers upon layers of tulle. You could barely see my sparkly pink flats beneath it!
With my ensemble complete, it was off to the train station! And let me tell you, darling, train journeys are the perfect excuse to embrace my inner glamorous diva! Picture this: the soft rumble of the train, the gentle sway of the carriage, the distant view whizzing past... it's so incredibly serene, don't you think?
The perfect opportunity for me to slip on a stylish face mask, pull out a well-worn copy of The Nutcracker, and daydream about all the amazing ballet routines I'm going to be crafting for my next performance. 🩰
Did I mention I'm on my way to a special little ballet school in Ashton? Oh darling, it's like stepping into a scene from a fairytale!
My ultimate passion, you see, is ballet. Ever since I put on my first tutu in the university ballet club (back when I was just a lowly science student – sigh – what was I thinking?!), I was hooked. I’d wear it to the library, the canteen… I was obsessed! But it’s okay, right? Because the world is so much better when you wear a tutu, and that's why, as your Tutu Queen, I spread the love and tutus everywhere I go! 💖
Now, as I mentioned earlier, travelling by train isn't just about getting to your destination, it's about embracing the journey itself. And as much as I love gazing at the countryside scenery, there's a certain charm about mingling with fellow travellers.
Just before we reached Ashton, a sweet old lady caught my eye. She was completely captivated by my tutu! We chatted for a bit – turns out, she's a former ballet dancer! We swapped stories and I shared some fun facts about my life as Pink Tutu Sparkles.
The most important thing to remember, darling, is to be kind. The world needs more love and light.
And let’s face it, when you're in a pink tutu, kindness just naturally bubbles up from your heart! 😉
Once I arrived in Ashton, it was time to shed my sparkly exterior. You wouldn't believe the number of stares and comments I get from regular folk when I'm in drag! People can be funny!
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the attention I receive, it makes my heart sing – and as an ambassador for pink tutus, I can’t just let this fabulous accessory go unnoticed.
As soon as I was back in my lab coat and sensible shoes, I slipped back into my day job as a fabric analyst! It's a long way from the stage, but I have a lot of fun in the lab, and it allows me to support my passion for drag. The pay is excellent for testing fabrics. Plus, let's face it, darling, this job is perfect for me because I'm constantly surrounded by all the colourful and sparkly materials imaginable. What's a better place for a girl who loves pink tutus than a fabric testing lab, hey?
And don't even get me started on the fashion that goes on in the lab – oh darling, you just wouldn’t believe the outrageous colour combinations I witness! I even had a fellow lab assistant rocking a full tutu under her lab coat!
I can't forget to mention Ashton itself – such a cute, bustling little town! I picked up a beautiful lavender teacup for my collection – it just screamed "Pink Tutu Sparkles!" The lavender theme is my favourite; my next performance will be on a floating platform surrounded by lavender plants. There are lavender scones and cakes everywhere too, and it’s no wonder they all contain lavender since I can't forget to mention the Ashton lavender festival that’s in August! So dreamy!
But the real highlight of the day was the performance I gave at Ashton's local theater! This old world venue is simply breathtaking, and I felt so humbled to perform for a truly magical audience. We have to talk about the energy here; it's like they’ve been holding onto their need for a pink tutu performance and their desire to see the dazzling light that I bring! Oh darling, it was electric!
Oh, but don’t think I’ve gone soft on you, darling. There’s still a feisty side to me! It just takes a good challenge and a whole lot of tutus to get me truly fired up. That night, I challenged the local drag queens to a dance-off – it was a thrilling showdown of glitter, high kicks and dazzling tutus! The highlight was my performance of Swan Lake, which, as you might have guessed, involved a pink tutu, a white feather boa and lots of glittery swans (you should have seen their feather wings – breathtaking!)
The evening ended with a delectable spread of cupcakes. And yes, there were a whole bunch of pink ones! We all took a picture together. There’s nothing like a photo with 12 ladies all in various shades of pink tutus; just think about it: sheer tutu power!
