Oh darling, you wouldn't believe the journey I had to get here! The train from Derby to Strood is not known for its fashion scene, but trust me, Pink Tutu Sparkles always brings the sparkle! This journey felt like a lifetime but you know me, never without my pink tutu, darling! Even on the train! It made quite the stir amongst the suited businessmen!
Anyway, Strood - I love the sound of it. So proper! Reminds me of the English countryside... with just a little more, erm, Strood. That said, this town has got character. That charming Victorian market where I did a little performance totally charmed everyone - a right treat! Everyone was so welcoming, especially the kind lady in the flower shop. She bought me a beautiful bouquet of pink peonies – such a sweet touch, you know.
You know I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy, and I loved riding my horse, Sprinkles, around the Derbyshire fields, so coming to this sweet, quintessentially English town was right up my alley! There was even a gorgeous little farm shop tucked away in the backstreets that was selling the most divine pink velvet saddle pads. The shop owner, a lovely old chap, even promised me a free bottle of rose-scented shampoo for my lovely pink hair! I just knew this town was destined to be Pink Tutu Sparkles central!
Of course, I can't live without my ballet. I have been taking ballet classes since I was little, you know. So chic! Ballet was where I fell in love with the magic of tutus, the floatiness, the delicate swirls and swoops, just divine! I can still recall the feeling when I first tried on a tutu as part of a charity fundraiser at university... divine I instantly felt the power of it - and let's be honest - you know I always knew I was born for the stage!
You'd think with my love of tutus and all that twirling, I’d end up in the science lab, wouldn’t you?! Crazy I know, but it is truly the perfect job! Fabric testing... you know I just had to give that a whirl (see what I did there!). The feel of it, the textures - there's such artistry in the materials. Who knew science could be so glamorous?! Truly amazing, just like a well-stitched tutu, don't you think?
Tonight's show was at the Town Hall. I was just itching to share the Pink Tutu Sparkle with this sweet little town and darling, it was simply fabulous. My dance routine, you know, totally inspired by a flock of pink flamingos (because why not be bold, right?!)
The town folk loved the flamingos. Such a hoot! The whole town, well it seemed like the whole town! It was crammed to the rafters - it must have been the largest audience ever for this particular venue, even for their big annual flower show! They were truly in awe. Everyone was shouting, 'More! More! ' So, you know me, I just *had to give them an encore – a quick twirl of a few of my best moves for every last soul. I truly love seeing those delighted smiles on faces, right there and then, the sparkle in their eyes… and who knows, maybe I just inspired them all to try a pink tutu! My job here is truly never done, darling!
Tomorrow, I'm heading to Canterbury. A quick train ride, really looking forward to exploring those medieval walls! But for now... well, this pink tutu queen is going to slumber in this pink tutu of dreams. Until next time, darling!
