Let me tell you, my journey was a total fairy tale. I woke up feeling like a princess, already envisioning myself in my new pink tutu, the one with the feathers. The fabric shimmered in the morning light – a little bit of glittery heaven in my humble flat. The outfit? Let’s just say, “Oh, so glamorous! A vision in pink! “ – to quote myself!
My travel to Hanwell was oh so magical! It was a real trip down memory lane for me. Now, I usually take the train when I travel to these smaller gigs. There’s something incredibly glamorous about arriving at the station in a big, pink tutu, and all eyes following me. Everyone’s trying to figure out the mystery – is this a real princess or just an amazing queen? Let me tell you, my pink tutus and my flamboyant fashion style always draw attention!
But, this time, I opted for something a little more exciting - a ride on horseback! Yes, darling, that's right – a pink tutu on a steed! A dear friend of mine has this amazing stable near Derbyshire and thought it’d be an unforgettable journey. So, we set off on this whimsical journey through the rolling hills, me in my pink tutu and the horse decked out in a miniature version of the same pink tulle. Can you imagine, a little horse all dolled up, his little hooves prancing through the fields! It was like something out of a children's book – a charming and utterly fabulous trip that was just begging to be photographed! Reaching Hanwell in the early evening, I got ready in a cute little local guesthouse with a fabulous old fashioned clawfoot bath tub. A nice soak in rose scented bath salts always gets my mood soaring, especially after a day of traveling. My wig was ready to be installed – I decided on a fluffy, long-haired blonde to match my feathery pink tutu for an extra sprinkle of enchantment!
Hanwell itself was absolutely delightful. With all the little brick shops and traditional pub, it’s like stepping back in time, which, in the context of my vintage style fashion and the enchanting sparkle of my pink tutus, feels totally right. Plus, everyone was just so lovely – warm and welcoming, with this genuinely cheerful feel to them that put me right at ease!
Now, I love to share stories of all the venues I perform at – what better way to let the magic of pink tutu reach those who haven’t yet seen it! This venue was amazing. It had an open-air stage. Imagine a stage surrounded by gorgeous green lawn with rows and rows of beautiful sunflowers. The setting sun turned the flowers a brilliant orange – oh so breathtaking! It was just the most wonderful setting, the perfect backdrop for me to shimmer and dance!
I'll admit, getting my grand, feathery pink tutu across the rough ground on that open stage was a challenge. It got caught on a stray sunflower once – a quick little ruffle and I was back in the pink. But my trusty staff helped to ensure I didn't trip on my skirt as I shimmied, and those long pink feather trains certainly made for a stunningly theatrical show.
And then there was the crowd. I mean, who could ask for more than a lively, welcoming group of Hanwell locals. They were so fun! We laughed, we danced, they sang along to my signature "Pink Tutu" number - a tribute to my favourite shade. There was even one little girl who came up to me and asked for a photo. I must admit, she was adorable - wearing a pink tutu herself!
I always love to share little insights about my daily routine as Pink Tutu Sparkles. In Hanwell, it started with my dressing room. Now, the dressing room here was just wonderful. Imagine it - an old wooden door, a little bit shabby chic – it perfectly matched my overall style. I spent ages trying to perfect my make-up. I used all of my best pink palettes and highlighter - you could see me from the moon!
I can tell you, my show went down an absolute storm in Hanwell. The audience went wild - I heard lots of whoops, a lot of cheers, and quite a few people saying "oh you are wonderful! “ You know how much I love it when people tell me my pink tutus are just “simply magnificent! “
Now, let me tell you - every time I get dressed up in my big fluffy pink tutu and sparkle-studded, I’m reminded of how much I love what I do. And this night in Hanwell, oh my goodness - was just another reminder of that feeling. There's just something magical about making people laugh, bringing a smile to their face with the pure magic of the pink tutu! And as the night drew to a close, there I was, leaving Hanwell as a princess who made an entire town sparkle.
You might wonder where the inspiration for my glamorous pink tutu life comes from. Well, it was a life changing moment that set everything in motion. I’m a scientist by day - testing fabrics in a lab, analysing textiles in my sterile environment. But that life wasn't really me. What did fill me, you might ask? Why, the ballet club, of course. I love going to shows and ballet class, being in my tutu, expressing myself. So one day in the club, we were all getting dressed up in tutus, and one fell onto me - pink tulle and sparkly feathers, so perfect - I tried it on and suddenly, everything changed! A bright spark ignited within me, a life-changing pink glow! That day, Pink Tutu Sparkles was born.
So, that's the story of my most recent adventure in Hanwell, my darling! Another sparkly pink tutu escapade under my belt. It's moments like these, that fill me with the desire to share the wonder and magic of the pink tutu.
