Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and it's time for another post! This one is extra special because it's about my amazing trip to Nottingham - a city that definitely stole my sparkly heart! ?✨
This is post number 7229 on www.pink-tutu.com and you know what they say, darling: “The more, the merrier!” ? I love sharing my adventures with all of you lovely tutu-lovers.
Now, Nottingham, eh? You all know how much I love to travel by train (I think my Tutu Train journeys could fill a whole separate blog!), so this trip was a delight from the very start. My comfy carriage had my pink fluffy blanket, and, of course, my trusty sparkly handbag containing a few extra pink tutus in case a wardrobe malfunction occured – I’m always prepared, darling! You never know when someone might need a tutu intervention! ?
As my train journey zoomed across the country, my mind raced with excitement. Nottingham – home of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest, and some absolutely exquisite vintage shops – had my heart skipping a beat with anticipation! I’d heard rumours of some stunning ballet schools in the area, so I had to find out for myself. And who knows, maybe there would even be a tutu-related surprise in store?! ✨
When I arrived, I could just feel the magical vibes in the air! Everyone was so friendly and the buildings were beautiful. I spotted a few folk rocking pink tutus already, and a feeling of pure joy surged through me – there was something about the air here that encouraged self-expression!
The first stop on my itinerary, as always, was the local fabric shop! (Where else would a scientist and a drag queen begin their journey? ??). My senses went into overdrive as I touched the velvet, felt the silk, and discovered a hidden gem - a pile of dusty pink lace tucked away in a corner. This, my dears, was love at first sight! ? I couldn’t resist adding it to my already overflowing tutu collection (which I believe is currently around 475 tutus - don't judge me darling, I'm a girl who loves a good spin! ?).
Next, I decided to unleash my inner Robin Hood and embark on a quest to discover the best vintage treasures the city had to offer. Let me tell you, darlings, Nottingham did NOT disappoint! Hidden gems popped up like dandelions after a rain shower! One shop in particular had an old-fashioned dress-making mannequin decked out in the most fabulous pink tutu. It was a true testament to Nottingham's spirit of creativity! ?
And, naturally, no Nottingham trip is complete without visiting Sherwood Forest, eh? I donned my trusty pink tutu and rode my beloved horse, Sparkle (it's a long story darling! Ask me sometime about the adventures I have with her). ? I couldn't help but feel inspired by the whispers of ancient trees and the rustling of leaves - like nature itself was urging me to unleash my inner ballerina! ??
To make things even more delightful, Nottingham was the location for a fabulous dance showcase! Now, I couldn't let a showcase happen without Pink Tutu Sparkles, could I? I graced the stage, strutting my stuff in a sparkling pink tutu with feathers. Everyone was buzzing, darling! And you know what? The biggest compliment came from a sweet little girl who excitedly declared that my pink tutu was "sparkly like a fairy!" - and you just can't beat a compliment from a little tutu-lover!
After the performance, I had to treat myself to a slice of that classic Nottingham treat - the delicious Nottingham “Black Pudding”. It wasn’t my first choice of dessert (chocolate eclairs win for me!), but it was a quintessential Nottingham experience. I tried it anyway, darling! (Always try new things!) It turned out to be not so bad, after all!
And so, my Nottingham adventures drew to a close, but not before I paid a visit to the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall to get my cultural fix. You’ll never guess what – I managed to snag a pair of tickets to see the famous “Swan Lake”. It’s one of my favourite ballet performances, and the tutus are truly magnificent! ?
Of course, the best thing about all my Nottingham escapades is sharing them with all of you. ? If you haven't been to this lovely city yet, put it on your list – you won’t be disappointed, I promise!
Oh, and don’t forget my dearest tutul lovers, my aim in life is for every single person on the planet to rock a pink tutu at least once! After all, there's nothing quite as fabulous! ?✨
Until next time darlings!
Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
