Hello darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, and oh my goodness, you wouldn't believe the whirlwind adventure I had in Loughborough! It was all pink, all sparkly, and utterly fabulous, as always, because, well, that's just how I roll!
This week's journey took me to Loughborough, a charming town tucked away in Leicestershire. The train ride was a delight - all comfy carriages and the soothing rhythm of the tracks. I decided to give myself a bit of a pre-show pamper and spritz myself with some shimmery lavender mist, you know, just to set the mood for a night of twinkling and twirling.
Speaking of twirling, my new tutu arrived just in time for this trip! It's a glorious shade of bubblegum pink, with delicate tulle ruffles and a sprinkling of iridescent sequins. I practically bounced with glee when I unwrapped it, let me tell you! It was perfect for the performance, which, by the way, was absolutely phenomenal.
This little town really knew how to party! I strutted my stuff at the local theatre, with the stage lights reflecting off my sparkly tiara. I swear, the audience was practically glued to their seats as I pirouetted, prance-walked, and performed a few dazzling ballet moves - thanks to all those hours at the barre! My dear friend Penelope (she’s got amazing taste in fashion, you know!) was my backup dancer for this performance and we gave them a truly dazzling spectacle.
Let’s just say the entire town went wild for Pink Tutu Sparkles! I was inundated with compliments on my new tutu, requests for selfies (I happily obliged!), and even a few pink tutu-themed birthday requests (hint, hint!). It truly is inspiring to see how my passion for pink and tutus is bringing so much joy to others. I'm living proof that even a sprinkle of sparkle can make the world a brighter place.
Of course, my day wasn't all glitz and glamour. There’s a reason why they call me "Sparkles" because sometimes life throws in a little bit of the unexpected! In the morning, I actually managed to snag a cute little pair of sparkly pink platform boots in the town's vintage store. Can you imagine? It was fate, I tell you! After a couple of cheeky sips from my sparkling pink cocktail (thank you, Loughborough!), I managed to wobble out of the store in them - a triumphant strut all the way.
A delightful dinner with local performers and some friendly chats over coffee at a quaint café later, it was time to recharge for the next leg of my journey. As always, it was time to head back home - the calming rhythm of the train bringing the night’s excitement into focus. It’s a constant adventure, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little bit of pink-tutu fuelled joy!

A little something about my journey...For those who might be curious about the little bit of science behind Pink Tutu Sparkles, it’s true - by day, I'm Alex, a textiles scientist working in a lab! My day job’s got me surrounded by fabrics of all types – I get to experiment with colours, textures, and all sorts of wonderful creations. You see, before I was a drag queen, I always felt happiest in my ballet shoes – and tutus, naturally! But when I was at university studying science, I decided to embrace my love of performance by auditioning for the ballet club, and that’s when everything changed! For a charity fundraiser, I had to try on a pink tutu, and BAM! I fell in love! Pink tutus are my passion, and they brought the pink in my heart out. Now I test the very fabric that allows others to wear those wonderful tutus!
When the curtain closes on my nightly drag performances, I slip back into my day life as a humble (but incredibly fashionable) scientist! By day, I’m experimenting with fibres and weaving the fabric of my dreams – literally! Then by night, it's back to the stage, embracing my vibrant inner Pink Tutu Sparkles! This kind of journey isn’t for everyone but honestly, it's perfect for me, it’s what brings me joy and brings sparkle to others’ days!
