Hello darlings! Welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com, where pink is the only colour and tutus are the only attire! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the seaside town of Great Yarmouth! Today, I'm breaking the news of my trip, and you know what that means – Blog post number 7400! 🥳
My train journey to Great Yarmouth was just the most wonderful way to arrive. All those pretty fields and rolling hills. The wind was in my hair (and tutu) – a perfect pink canvas! Speaking of pink, my outfit was quite the statement this time. A fluorescent pink tulle tutu that practically glowed in the sunlight, paired with a shimmering pink sequin top and, of course, my trademark pink glitter platform heels! I might have turned a few heads, but hey, that’s part of the TutuQueen fun, isn't it?
Before I arrived, I did a quick Google search to discover that Great Yarmouth has a fantastic arts scene. Imagine my joy when I found that there's a fabulous theatre called The Hippodrome! As soon as I settled into my little seaside cottage (I’m a sucker for anything pink and pretty!) I made a beeline for the Hippodrome. There, on the stage, was the most spectacular ballet performance. Imagine the elegance, the artistry! The dancers wore their own tutus, and I couldn't help but wonder what it felt like to move with such grace. (Maybe that’s my next ballet class, I’m definitely thinking “ballet with a twist”) Maybe a sparkly pink twist? 😉
Later on, I hit the Great Yarmouth promenade, soaking up the seaside vibes. A delicious pink candyfloss (naturally!) was the perfect way to top off the day. Now, Great Yarmouth may not be your first thought for a weekend getaway, but trust me, there's a whole lot of fun to be had in this historic town. The vintage arcades, the historic alleys, and even a gorgeous stretch of beach for those of us who need a pink-tastic sunbathing sesh! (Of course, my pink sunblock will be in tow).
But let’s not forget what brought me here! This weekend, I’m set to perform at the Great Yarmouth Festival of Fun! Imagine, me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, taking the stage and spreading my pink glitter magic! This is the dream. It's about more than just the sequins and the sparkly gowns. It’s about using the power of Pink Tutu to bring people together, make them laugh, make them smile, and perhaps even encourage them to embrace a bit of pink magic in their own lives! After all, who needs grey when you can have pink?
Speaking of pink magic, here’s a sneak peek into what you can expect at my performance. There will be song, there will be dance (always!), and, of course, there will be an abundance of tutus, from delicate tulle creations to full-bodied frothy affairs! And naturally, I will be wearing the most stunningly pink gown, and yes, it will have sequins. Because sequins add extra sparkles to the stage, don't you think? ✨
But, don't be fooled by the sparkle. Underneath it all is a science geek – just like you! Don’t get me wrong, my days in the lab, testing the fabric quality of the finest dresses, can be tough. There’s nothing more disappointing than a seam splitting right in the middle of your dance routine (ask me about that one time...).
But you know, it’s all about balance, right? By day, I'm a fabric analyst for a small Derbyshire textiles firm, a serious, scientific brain. But then, as the evening arrives, the sequins go on, and it’s all Pink Tutu Sparkle, with her sparkling pink dreams! That’s my life. It might be a bit chaotic, it might be a bit mad, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The thing is, it's not just about being Pink Tutu Sparkles; it's about spreading the pink! That’s why, from now on, every time I’m on the road, I'm going to be doing my "pink promise"! For every person I meet on my travels who promises to wear pink, even for just five minutes, I’m donating a pink tutu to charity! So, come on! Get pinking, and we can do a whole lot of good! 💖
