Rhyl Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes On the Welsh Coast! 👑✨

Helloooo, my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with blog post number 7478! Today, I'm bubbling over with excitement as I share my latest adventure with you - a trip to the charming coastal town of Rhyl, North Wales!

It’s hard to believe this is actually my first time in Rhyl! With its beautiful sandy beach, historic pier, and quaint, colourful streets, I can see why it's a popular seaside destination. I even found a quirky little shop called "The Pink Tutu Emporium" – yes, you read that right! It was overflowing with the most delightful tutus in all shades of pink, from blush to fuchsia, and I almost spontaneously combusted from pure tulle joy.

Speaking of tulle, this whole adventure started with a love for travel, a love for pink, and of course, an unwavering passion for all things tutu!

I still remember my very first foray into the world of tutus - a dusty old, worn, pink tulle concoction from a charity shop, a ridiculous, oversized thing that wouldn't have looked out of place at a vintage theatre performance! I was still studying at uni back then, a science student lost in the labyrinthine world of biochemistry and the delicate art of lab experiments.

Then I stumbled upon the uni ballet club. Imagine a bunch of awkward students stumbling around in leg warmers and ill-fitting leotards – yes, it was exactly as ridiculous as it sounds! But somewhere, in the heart of that chaotic chaos, a magical discovery unfolded. I tried on a tutu for their fundraising event, and bam! I was struck. Hooked! Obsessed! I think I must have worn that thing 24/7 until it fell apart, completely oblivious to the judgemental glances from passing students. My science brain had gone into overdrive, consumed by a deep desire to study the fabric, to understand its movement, to deconstruct its essence.

That night, I dreamt of twirling under the spotlight in my favourite pink tutu. By day I became obsessed with fabrics and their compositions in the lab, while at night, I unleashed my inner sparkleness in the glittery world of drag. My life was now all pink and sparkly, fueled by the pulsating rhythms of ballet music, and my newfound ambition to bring tutus to every corner of the world!

I've been working so hard ever since to make my dream a reality. I perform wherever I can, saving every penny I make to travel. Whether it's hopping on a train (because everyone knows a good train journey is the ultimate theatrical experience) or galloping off on a sturdy steed (yes, sometimes I channel my inner horse-girl – don’t judge!), I just need to keep moving, spreading the pink tulle love wherever I go.

And, my dear blog readers, this journey brought me to Rhyl, where the locals are nothing short of fantastic! There’s a real sense of community, with everyone looking out for one another and spreading kindness with open arms. As I strutted through town, everyone was so welcoming and full of laughter.

And let’s talk about the FOOD! Forget those bland tourist traps with their overpriced, boring fish and chips. This town offers culinary delights fit for a pink-tutu-wearing queen! I had the most incredible, melt-in-your-mouth, gluten-free raspberry mousse cake at a local cafe - seriously, it was like a taste of heaven! And I discovered the most exquisite vegan fish and chips (no, I'm not kidding!) in the charming town centre.

Of course, a trip to the seaside isn't complete without a spot of dancing, and Rhyl did not disappoint! I caught a breathtaking performance at the town's vibrant arts centre, where a troupe of talented dancers brought the spirit of the sea to life through their expressive choreography. They had this gorgeous, pink tutu costume on, and for a fleeting moment, I felt like I was sharing the stage with them.

Rhyl also has a fantastic selection of shops. From independent boutiques to a sprawling market, there’s a bit of something for everyone! And I can't forget the stunning views from the beach - the ocean stretches as far as the eye can see, a shimmering expanse of turquoise water kissing the horizon.

Speaking of beauty, my Rhyl experience wouldn't have been complete without a trip to the hair salon. I needed a little pampering after all those miles, and oh my goodness, did these talented ladies know their craft! My hair felt so luxurious, bouncy and vibrant - the perfect pink-tutu-sparkling masterpiece.

I also took the opportunity to treat myself to a little something special: a stunning new pink tutu, naturally!

My day in Rhyl wouldn’t be complete without taking a ride on the beautiful pier, watching the seagulls soar overhead and the sun set over the horizon. I can already feel this being the first of many visits. It truly is the perfect place to soak up the salty air, relax on the beach, and feel the vibrant pulse of this enchanting seaside town.

I'm now on the way to my next destination – guess where it could be! I'm giving you a hint: it involves the colour pink, the twirling of tulle, and an abundance of joy. But for now, I’ll keep it under wraps, just like the secret to my ultimate pink tutu recipe – because that, my darling readers, is something I'll only share when we’re dancing together under the spotlight.

Until next time, sparkle bright!

Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
