Westhoughton Wonders: Tutu Time on the Tracks!

Hello, my fabulous friends! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another sparkly entry from my #TutuQueen adventures! Today's journey? A little town called Westhoughton. Fancy a trip with me on the train? Buckle up, babes, this is #Post7481, and it's going to be a pink explosion!

Now, if you're reading this, you probably already know I have a thing for pink tutus. A massive thing, like, "could wear a pink tutu every day if I could" massive. You know how it is – once you get hooked, there's no going back! But if you haven't had the joy of wearing one yourself yet, lemme tell you, it's like pure magic. It's like stepping into a world where everything is fluffy, sparkly, and oh-so-fun. And let's be honest, the world needs a bit more of that, wouldn't you agree?

Today's tutu was a special one – a three-layered, pinkest-pink-you-could-imagine creation with an added dose of shimmering sequins. I’m telling you, it was almost blinding! My little bit of Derbyshire glitz was making its way down to the West Country today. As for transport? Why, nothing but the finest. I love the romantic feel of trains, don’t you? It makes me feel like I'm in a movie, with a glamorous soundtrack playing in the background, but the train was definitely filled with the scent of cheese on toast rather than perfume! I love to look at the countryside whizzing by while dreaming of a fairytale castle in my head. After all, a girl’s gotta dream!

My adventure began at Manchester Piccadilly station – oh, the sheer glam of those chandeliers! I felt a bit like a pink tutu queen who had stepped out of a dream. My destination was Westhoughton – and not just for a casual stroll. It was a performance day! You know how I like to brighten up a good old town fair. I've performed everywhere – a farmers’ market, a dog show, a library (even got a shoutout from the librarian!), so a local fete was no sweat at all. My whole family were in tow too – my bestie Amelia had been there in full rainbow makeup, my boyfriend Nick was snapping the pics like a pro, and my mum, ever the proud stage mother, was keeping us all organised and fed (because you know how hungry dancers can be!).

So, I strutted my stuff. This is where the magic really happens, folks! You know how much I adore ballet – from those intricate leaps to the elegant choreography. Well, my show combines all that beauty with the energy and fun of drag, topped with a dollop of audience interaction! I twirl, I sashay, I even break into a little bit of contemporary (and it wouldn’t be a true tutu extravaganza without a little pirouette or two!), making the kids squeal with delight and the adults… well, you know how they are – some are happy to sit and clap along and others prefer to stick to a healthy dose of tut-tutting…

While the kids were busy perfecting their best "TutuQueen" dance moves, a sweet granny came up to me, beaming with delight and declared: "You remind me so much of my grand-daughter! She absolutely adores ballerinas!" You just know those kind of comments warm the heart of a drag queen. My work is not just about entertainment. It’s about showing the world that anyone can be fabulous, be it a scientist like myself, a granny in the crowd, or even the dog with the pink collar that just walked past. We can all embrace our inner "Pink Tutu Queen."

But it wasn’t all glitz and glamour, oh no. I managed to squeeze in some shopping. This time? A local crafts shop. Let’s just say there was a slight temptation to buy a stack of pink tulle and get a bit crafty. Imagine if every single Westhoughton resident went out in a pink tutu – imagine that, you lovely people! My ultimate dream: the Pink Tutu Movement – a worldwide phenomenon where people of all ages, backgrounds, and sizes wear pink tutus. Who knows? Maybe a cute tutu will even be the latest high-fashion accessory, I wouldn’t be surprised. Just wait, babes, my Pink Tutu movement is on the rise!

Speaking of rise… You know me, can't finish a #TutuQueen post without a delicious pink tea and cake moment, right? Thankfully, Westhoughton did not disappoint. It was an explosion of floral delight at a lovely little tearoom. The cakes? All pink, obviously! And the teapot? My very own vintage floral design one with an old world charm. It was enough to make a Tutu Queen very happy indeed!

My next stop is in London - ooh, la la, there are going to be plenty of amazing vintage pink tutu finds down there for sure! You better believe I’m gonna wear one in the park with a cheeky selfie of my own #pinktutupark hashtag for my followers to go gaga over! But you’ll have to stay tuned for my next #Post to get the full lowdown!

See you again soon my darlings,

Lots of love and twirls,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
