Hello darlings, it's your favourite pink tutu wearing princess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and oh my gosh, you won't believe what happened to me in Romford! As you know, I'm always on the lookout for new adventures, new sparkles, and of course, more pink tutus to spread the love (and the fluff)! So when I got the chance to perform in Romford, well, I just had to pack my bags, grab my pink suitcase, and head down south!
Now, Romford may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of drag, but let me tell you, they know how to party! I'm not sure if it was my infectious smile, my fabulous pink tutu (which, by the way, was a brand new design, all handmade by me!), or just the sheer magic of a pink-clad princess, but the energy in the room was electric!
You know how I love my ballet, right? Well, Romford certainly had me doing a grand jeté with excitement. Before I took to the stage, I took a stroll through the town, which felt like stepping into a time capsule! It's got this lovely, historic charm that reminded me of my dear hometown, Derbyshire. However, the real magic started when I walked into the theatre! They'd put together the most incredible backdrop, adorned with pink ribbons and twinkling fairy lights - perfect for a Pink Tutu Sparkles show, don't you think?
Now, I don't want to brag (too much!), but the audience loved me! They laughed, they cheered, they even had a go at some pink tutu twirls! The energy was amazing. Afterward, the entire place was buzzing about Pink Tutu Sparkles. You see, that's what I love about being a drag artist - it's more than just performance, it's about connection. About spreading joy and leaving people feeling happy, empowered, and maybe just a little bit more ready to embrace their inner pink tutu princess!
And let's be honest, every city needs a little Pink Tutu Sparkles in its life! Speaking of embracing the pink, I can't talk about Romford without mentioning the fabulous vintage clothes shop I discovered, tucked away down a charming little alley! Honestly, I found some incredible pieces - imagine a sequined pink feather boa for my next show! It's moments like these that make traveling around the country so much fun. I truly get to be a fashion explorer, uncovering all these amazing pieces that make my drag act sparkle even brighter.
The trip to Romford wasn't just about performing, though. I even squeezed in some ballet! Who knew Romford had a ballet school? I had to sneak in a lesson (my secret shame is that I actually miss proper ballet class sometimes!), and the teachers were amazing, and so supportive of the Pink Tutu Sparkles dream! They were thrilled to hear about my vision for pink tutu liberation, and I even managed to convince a few students to wear their own pink tutus in the next class. Imagine, a whole ballet class in pink tutus, just like a mini-Pink Tutu Sparkles dream come true!
Now, a Pink Tutu Sparkles journey isn't complete without a little touch of whimsy. You see, I have a soft spot for horses, and when I learned that Romford has a fantastic riding stable, I just had to saddle up! I’m a Derbyshire girl after all. We adore our horses, and a ride through the green countryside was just what I needed to feel fully at peace after a successful show! It's just that feeling of freedom and fresh air, the breeze tousling my pink tutu, and a gentle clip clop of hooves on the ground – truly a dream come true.
And of course, every Pink Tutu Sparkles trip is made even better when I get to indulge in the joys of a delicious, warm British meal. Romford didn’t disappoint! I found this cute little café that served the most incredible afternoon tea, complete with mini-cakes, delicate finger sandwiches, and of course, the classic scones with clotted cream. It was just the perfect ending to my day!
