Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on Cambridge! πŸ©°πŸ‘‘

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu queen, back with another glamorous blog post, number 7521 if you're counting! πŸ’– Today, we're taking a trip to the beautiful city of Cambridge, and let me tell you, it's just as dreamy as they say. ✨

You see, ever since I popped on my first tutu for a charity event way back when I was a student (don't worry, I was studying science, not fashion, but even science nerds need a little glitz and glamour!), I've been on a quest to make the world a pink-tutu-wearing, glitter-filled paradise. And this trip to Cambridge was just another step in that grand plan!

Now, getting to Cambridge, of course, I couldn't bear to even consider a mere plane. What fun would that be?! So, imagine me, looking absolutely divine in a pink-hued sequined dress, my signature pink tutu swirling around me like a fluffy cloud, all aboard a quaint vintage train carriage. It felt like I was starring in my own whimsical ballet production, but instead of the stage, we were hurtling through the English countryside! πŸš‚

As the train sped past lush green fields, I couldn't help but dream of a future where everyone, from the smallest ballerina in her dance class to the CEO in his boardroom, was wearing a pink tutu! 🀯

Cambridge's Cultural Delights πŸ›οΈπŸŽ¨

Now, arriving in Cambridge, I felt instantly charmed by the cobbled streets, the ancient architecture, and the charming atmosphere. And let's not forget the punts! Those iconic flat-bottomed boats gliding along the River Cam truly add to the magical charm of this city.

As a drag artist, I couldn't resist taking a peek inside some of the historic halls of learning, Cambridge is home to some of the world's most renowned universities after all! My heart, however, was truly captured by the Fitzwilliam Museum. You wouldn't believe the exquisite art collection! There was everything from ancient Egyptian artifacts to stunning Renaissance paintings, and each piece was beautifully presented, a veritable feast for the eyes.

Oh, and I couldn't leave Cambridge without a visit to the Cambridge Arts Theatre, the stage has hosted many famous performers in the past. I spent the afternoon taking in a truly spectacular ballet performance that had me captivated. There was something so incredibly graceful about the ballerinas dancing, with their leaps, spins and pirouettes. It almost felt like magic!

Shop Til You DropπŸ›οΈ

Of course, no trip to Cambridge is complete without some serious retail therapy. My favourite place for a girly afternoon was a quaint little shop on King's Parade that had a stunning array of vintage clothing and accessories. Imagine, gorgeous sequined dresses in every colour imaginable, velvet jackets from another era, and hats so fabulous, they almost begged to be worn in a drag performance! I'm talking, you know, feathered headpieces, enormous flowers and an abundance of sparkles! I honestly believe I found some absolute treasures, and believe me, you'll be seeing them on my Instagram soon! ✨

I couldn't resist picking up a pair of silk gloves in a soft pink shade - perfect for my next show! Oh, and of course, no fashion trip would be complete without visiting Cambridge's markets, a wonderland of vintage delights. And for those special occasions, it just had to be a vintage silk evening scarf. Who says you can't mix elegance with vintage?

The Horse and Cart, Cambridge 🐴

As you all know, I'm not just about glitter and tutus; I'm also a big believer in embracing nature and all its beauty. Cambridge is also a place that feels deeply rooted in the countryside, so it wouldn't have been complete without a countryside trip.

And for that special occasion, it had to be a horse-drawn cart. You'd be surprised just how charming a countryside trip can be on a traditional horse-drawn carriage. Imagine a gorgeous afternoon with the sunshine shining on your face, a light breeze through your hair, and the gentle rhythm of the horses’ hooves... it felt almost therapeutic!

This time, I even opted for a trip through a stately home, complete with gardens. And, naturally, a pink tutu was required. It wasn't for a show, just my favourite outfit. And even amongst the flowers, the pink tutu looked pretty good!

Final Thoughts

I had an absolute blast in Cambridge! It was a fantastic experience filled with artistic beauty, a dose of vintage charm, and all those beautiful ballet performances. 🩰 And who knows, maybe next time I’m back, I'll find someone else who dares to don a pink tutu and strut their stuff on the cobbled streets. πŸ’– After all, remember my dream – to make the world a pink-tutu-wearing paradise! Until next time, darlings!

*Love always, *
