High Wycombe Calling! #TutuQueen Post Number 7524

Hello darlings, It's your Tutu Queen here! You know I am living my best life and rocking it in my favourite pink tutu! Today, I'm so excited to share my latest adventures, taking you all to the lovely town of High Wycombe, just a hop, skip, and a twirl away from my Derbyshire home. I can't believe it's been a whole year since I last visited this wonderful little place, and this trip just solidified my love for everything about it! I simply adore the quaint, old world charm that I found everywhere - especially the old buildings with their cute little shops and that amazing little vintage store where I picked up the most divine handbag, just for this trip. You can't miss it; it's on a little cobbled street opposite the park!

My High Wycombe Pink Tutu Adventures

This trip wasn't about any grand plans, darling! Sometimes the best adventures come from following your gut instinct. And my gut was screaming at me to grab my trusty suitcase, throw in my go-to pink tutu (and yes, darling, this was my sparkly one - the one with the hand-stitched tulle flowers) and hop on the train for a day trip!

Now, the real excitement starts with my train journey. Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned train ride? Honestly, it's the perfect excuse to slip into your most flamboyant look. I am absolutely living my best life rocking my new feather boa in a bubblegum pink! And yes, I did get a few stares, but let's be real, that's part of the fun!

As the train pulled into High Wycombe, the bustling town immediately enchanted me with its buzzing energy. Everywhere you look, you see so much life! I always think High Wycombe is just oozing with those special little independent businesses and charming shops you don't see in big cities.

A Tutu-fied High Tea

Now, you can't possibly come to High Wycombe without a trip to the beautiful The Old Tea Room, with its quirky vintage charm. I just love its pastel-colored décor and the delicate floral touches. Oh, darling, it was such a girly treat. And let me tell you, they know how to whip up a good old fashioned, cream-laden afternoon tea! It was the most glorious spread - a rainbow of dainty sandwiches, fluffy scones piled high with jam and clotted cream, and those petit fours that I just could not resist!

I actually planned to eat one of the mini Victoria sponges in one sitting! However, darling, when you see a dessert that pretty, all your manners go out the window.

Shopping Till You Drop - In Style, Naturally!

Now, who here doesn't love a good ol' fashion shopping spree? Because honestly, the amount of clothes shopping I did, it was unreal! It was as if High Wycombe had whispered, “Pink Tutu Sparkles, here you go, enjoy, doll!” It just knew what I needed! I even managed to find a shop dedicated to tutus and frills! What luck. I just had to pick up a new tutu for my collection.

After a most exhausting afternoon of window-shopping and treating myself, the late afternoon called for something a little less chaotic and much more relaxing, and that is when my favourite place in High Wycombe presented itself like a dream - the National Trust's Hughenden Manor. It just calls to me like the end of a rainbow! Oh my darling! It was literally made for me - and by "me," I really do mean, well, you too.

Hughenden Manor with its stunning gardens just whispered pink tutu to me! The absolute most amazing afternoon tea and soooo many fabulous photo opportunities. Just me, a few swans on the lake, and, of course, my favourite pink tutu... perfect!

I even got to meet a real-life peacock. Now, where are the photos!

A Starry High Wycombe Evening

As the sun started to set, I could not leave High Wycombe without that evening view across the town. I think I got the most perfect pink-tinted skies and those twinkly lights in the distance. It honestly felt like I was in a romantic movie! I wish I had a carousel behind me so I could pretend to be on a Magical ride. I did see one in the nearby amusement park...

Before I hopped back on my trusty train for the journey home, I managed to squeeze in a quick show. This time, it was a wonderful performance of "La Traviata" by some fabulous opera singers in the charming Swan Theatre. Honestly, I felt like I'd stepped back in time. All I was missing was my pink tutu. Maybe I’ll get a standing ovation for wearing one next time!

I couldn't let the day pass without some ballet dancing, and yes, you guessed it, it was at the cutest dance studio ever - The High Wycombe School of Ballet. You've got to believe me on this; the owners of this studio really know how to embrace those pink hues - honestly, you haven't lived until you've experienced pink tulle, ballet shoes, and a few pink-hued walls all at the same time. Just the very, very best for ballet dancing, or at least, I am telling myself I danced beautifully.

I did also feel that my day trip wasn't complete without a proper theatrical experience. It's so good when you can add theatre into the mix! And oh my darling, it just wasn't my lucky day in High Wycombe, was it! As I strolled around this enchanting town, what should I see but The Playhouse Theatre? I just had to pop in for a peek. Let's just say my imagination got carried away with a new play all about a pink tutu-obsessed scientist who finds themselves in a whimsical fairytale world... maybe I need to write it. It was just meant to be!

The journey back on the train with its twinkling lights is like magic for me, It's all I want when I am traveling alone! A book and some music, perfect!

My trip to High Wycombe was pure magic, a true escape from everyday life - it's one I won't forget! High Wycombe will forever have a special place in my pink tutu-loving heart! And yes, darling, I can guarantee this wasn't my last time! You better believe I will be making a quick visit soon, with or without a tutu.

Don’t forget, if you are reading this, tell the world you’re #TutuQueen and always keep those twirls twirling, those smiles sparkling, and, oh, you’ve got to wear the most amazing pink tutu. You'll make someone's day, darling!

And of course, keep up to date with my travels and adventures over at www.pink-tutu.com! Until then, love you all, Pink Tutu Sparkles. xoxo
