Oh my darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you a fresh batch of glitter and good vibes from the utterly enchanting city of Carlisle! 🎉
As you know, I'm all about the thrill of adventure, and that usually involves hopping onto a train and heading somewhere new. But this time, something special was in the air... Carlisle was beckoning! You see, my darlings, a certain little birdie told me that Carlisle's theatre scene was buzzing, and that they needed a dash of Pink Tutu magic. 💃
I'm all about spreading the pink tutu love, so I couldn't resist packing my signature sequined suitcase and hitting the road! And trust me, travelling by train is a delight when you're a girl like me. There's nothing quite like watching the countryside zip by, while you sip on a spot of tea and dream up new stage outfits! ☕️
My journey took me right into the heart of Cumbria. I was instantly smitten! There's something so peaceful about those rugged hills and wide-open spaces. It's like stepping into a Jane Austen novel! (Though, let's be honest, Jane Austen would never have dared to wear a pink tutu! Scandalous! 😂)
Speaking of scandals, let me tell you, I was a tad concerned about Carlisle's dress code! My pink tutus, those sparkly delights, can often be a little... well, attention-grabbing. 😅 But, to my utter delight, I was met with nothing but warmth and smiles. The people of Carlisle clearly appreciate a little sparkle and a whole lotta pink! They're true originals, just like me! 💖
And speaking of originals, I stumbled across the most fantastically quirky little shop called "Tutu Tuesdays." Now, that's what I call a sign from the fashion gods! 🛍️ Inside, the most gorgeous, vintage tutus hung like fairy dust on the walls! And I couldn't resist adding a little something new to my wardrobe (it was pink, of course!), plus, a cute pair of glittery shoes. A girl can never have too many shoes, you know? 👠
My grand performance took place at The Old Town Hall. A beautiful old building, brimming with history and elegance. Now, this is what I call theatre! They even had a stunning ballroom! You can bet I waltzed in with my Pink Tutu Sparkles flair. It was the perfect setting for a night of laughter, sequins, and oh, so much fun! 😉
Before I went on stage, I indulged in the local delicacies - think Cumberland sausage with a good helping of mash and a pint of cider. I'm a big girl, I can handle my meat and potatoes! 💪 And let's be honest, what’s a good drag performance without a little bit of local grub to fuel the glam?
The show itself? Oh, it was pure magic! The audience was incredible. I performed a medley of my signature tunes - a bit of "Vogue" (with a twist!), some cheeky burlesque inspired by "My Heart Will Go On", and a few sparkly covers that made the whole hall glow.
The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, a beautiful, tiny, six-year-old girl in the audience. Her eyes were wide with awe, and she bounced up and down to the music with such pure joy. 👧
Seeing that child's happy face, completely captivated by the magic of drag, reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
Sharing the love of the performing arts, and inspiring joy in every single heart that comes across my path. And yes, encouraging them all to wear a pink tutu, of course! 😉
Now, Carlisle, you've stolen a piece of my heart. You've got history, you've got charm, you've got fabulous shops, and the best thing? You love pink! You’ve inspired me to share this pink tutu love further! The Pink Tutu Sparkles train will be heading north again very soon, darlings.
