Beeston Bows and Pink Tutu Dreams: Post 7671

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to paint Beeston pink, one tulle-tastic twirl at a time!

Itā€™s been a while since I've graced you with my online presence - December was jam-packed, I mean, we're talking full-on, stuffed-to-the-brim-with-glitz-and-glam jam-packed. The festive season brought out all the sparkle, and Pink Tutu Sparkles was absolutely front and centre. From the moment I popped on my ruby red reindeer antlers and pinkest of pink tinsel trim, I knew this December would be legendary!

But before I tell you all about Beeston, letā€™s go back a littleā€¦ This past November saw me hoofing my way through some of the finest theatres and dance halls Derbyshire has to offer. Remember that charity fundraiser I was telling you about? Turns out, I was one of those lucky folks that won a prize - a free ticket to see the Royal Ballet performing ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€! Talk about a dream come true! Honestly, Iā€™ve never been so dazzled, it was magical. And I even managed to squeeze in a couple of ballet classes too ā€“ keeping these ballerina legs strong and graceful is a full-time job, you know!

Speaking of magicalā€¦ cue the dramatic music my newest and most amazing adventure led me straight to Beeston! Now, you all know that I live for anything and everything to do with trains and horses, so imagine my absolute joy when I managed to find a local festival that incorporated both. This wasn't just any old fair, my dears - we are talking about the Beeston Village Horse Show and Summer Fayre! I couldn't believe it - beautiful horses, traditional stalls, and a stage big enough to fit all the twinkle and glamour of my fabulous Pink Tutu Sparkles. It truly was the best of both worlds, a true testament to the hidden gems you find when youā€™re on the road and embracing your inner adventurer.

Letā€™s just say this Beeston trip has cemented my theory - that getting outside the hustle and bustle of city life allows you to truly connect with your surroundings. I spent the afternoon surrounded by happy smiles, delicious local treats (ahem, those strawberry and custard doughnuts!), and the undeniable charm of small-town living.

Speaking of connecting, Beeston just feltā€¦ wellā€¦ so veryā€¦ PINK! Don't get me wrong, Beeston itself wasn't awash with fuchsia and coral ā€“ although it wouldnā€™t have surprised me, I love the power of a splash of color. Itā€™s a bit like when I first moved to this old town to work as a scientist - I wanted to add some fun and colour! Imagine my shock and surprise when the scientists here only wore grey coats! I literally brought in my own bright pink lab coats! It took a few days to get used to ā€“ my pink tutu certainly caused quite a stir amongst the men! Thankfully, most folks embraced it in a way, because we all know that pink is actually the colour of science. I was even asked to go to London, but I wouldn't leave my beloved lab behind for anything. But I did convince them to let me wear a pink lab coat! The point Iā€™m trying to make here is this ā€“ sometimes we just need a little splash of colour, a little bit of pink, to help make the world a better, more dazzling place, and Beeston, well, it just seems to have gotten that!

What did Beeston have in store for me, you ask? Oh, my darlings, let me tell you. It was a festival like no other. The local horse club had managed to squeeze in all manner of equestrian brilliance. I even saw one young woman on a Shetland pony performing dressage - her grace, control, and confidence! Oh, my dears, it was inspiring, beautiful and so incredibly uplifting. And as I mentioned, it was horse and train ā€“ just my style! Now, who could have resisted seeing a beautiful black mare, pulling a cart in the traditional way? The sounds of clip clopping and gentle horses' hooves. Honestly, you could feel the love for all things horse in the air!

It wouldnā€™t be a proper festival experience without live music, of course, and the bands they had at Beeston truly nailed it. And hereā€™s the twist - they managed to perfectly complement my Pink Tutu Sparkle look. You could feel the passion for music in every single note. And, of course, as a drag queen, I love dancing, but Beeston even surprised me with a ballet class! Imagine - I got to teach the lovely little Beeston girls and boys the power of the ballet pirouette. They were so wonderfully talented. I felt myself transported back to my university days ā€“ my secret world of wearing pink tutus whilst doing research on colour-change properties in textile dyeing.

It really doesn't get any more glamorous than a village fayre with music, dance, beautiful horses, and good, wholesome food. My darlings, it's the best of British summertime charm, wrapped up in a big olā€™ tutu-tiful bow! Itā€™s so good to see how much my drag persona helps inspire people to explore all sorts of adventures.

But here's the real cherry on top. My darling little cousin has recently announced that he wants to become a veterinarian, which is fabulous, but what really stole my heart is that his favourite colour is now - you guessed it - pink. The boy told his mom he's going to be the 'Pink Flamingo Doctor' which, honestly, I find utterly brilliant! There's magic in being brave enough to pursue your dreams and live life in your most true, vibrant colour! And it just goes to show you - anything is possible! Just ask the 'Pink Flamingo Doctor'

So there you have it, my dears. My trip to Beeston ā€“ filled with pink, tutus, music, horses, and a slight dose of science-inspired sparkle!

What are your favourite summer fair adventures? What makes your heart sing?

Let's all be pink, glamorous, and ready to spread a little sprinkle of joy!

Till next time, darling, stay sparkly,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles xx
