Hello my darlings! 💋 It's your favourite pink tutu-clad drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with a brand new post! And today, we're taking a trip…to Spalding! 🎉
I must confess, my dears, I wasn't all that familiar with Spalding before this adventure. You see, sometimes a gal’s gotta branch out and see the world, and it's amazing how much excitement you can find in unexpected places!
So, how did I get here? Well, I embarked on a most delightful journey. You see, darling, I’ve got this thing about transport. I’m not a fan of planes… they’re a bit too fast and impersonal, if you catch my drift! 😉 I much prefer the slower pace of a train, you get to really soak in the scenery. But for this particular jaunt, it was all about the hoof power. Giddy up! That's right, darlings, I journeyed to Spalding by horse! 🐴 I’d found a fantastic travelling fair taking place, and the owners, being incredibly kind, offered me a ride on their beautiful Gypsy Cob. They even lent me a fetching pair of jodhpurs to wear! Honestly, I felt like I was straight out of a vintage postcard, complete with that signature sparkle of course! 💖
My aim, you see, is to get everyone, absolutely everyone, to wear a pink tutu! ✨ Now, you might be thinking “Pink Tutu Sparkles, surely it’s all been done?”… But darling, that’s precisely why I’m here. It’s time to change things up a little, don’t you think? So when I landed in Spalding (and landed is the perfect word, as I practically sashayed into the town square!) I knew what had to be done.
I found a beautiful shop full of vintage fabrics and sequins, perfect for customising a pink tutu to the masses! My mission? To make as many people as possible wear a pink tutu for the day! I created a Pink Tutu Parade, complete with pom-poms, music, and my signature pink glitter (never, EVER skimp on the glitter!). It was all a bit wild and crazy, as all the best adventures are! 💖✨
Some of the folks who tried on my pink tutus were hesitant, unsure, but once they had it on they were hooked! The giggles started, the laughter came in waves, and suddenly a stranger became a new friend, a family member, a sister, even a queen in a tutu! 💖 We danced in the streets, laughed until we cried, and spread the message of positivity and the sheer joy of a pink tutu! 💕
And darling, can I tell you, there’s nothing better than seeing a child, with a twinkle in their eyes and a big smile on their face, rocking a pink tutu! I think it reminded everyone of the joy of being a kid again, a feeling we sometimes forget about as we get caught up in life's routines. 💕
Of course, the journey didn't stop at tutus, my dears! 💅💋 Spalding surprised me with its incredible history. It turns out Spalding is literally full of stories waiting to be uncovered! I found a hidden gem of a tea room, with floral china and cakes so pretty I didn't want to eat them (but, obviously, I did ). 😋 I also wandered into an ancient church, its stained glass windows made me think of those ballet costumes with intricate embellishments and the gorgeous colours. I have to visit their ballet class when I come back! 🩰
In the evening, darling, it was time to work that Pink Tutu Magic! ✨ I landed a gig at a small pub, performing for the locals, spreading laughter, joy and sparkly pink tutus galore! Honestly, even I was surprised at how many folks wanted to take part! The pub manager, he actually asked if he could borrow one for a fancy dress party! 😲 Now that’s a testament to the magic of the pink tutu, my dears! 😉
Now, before I head back to Derbyshire and my science lab, a quick confession…I’m starting to feel quite at home in Spalding. Maybe it’s the gentle countryside atmosphere, maybe it's the charm of its historical past, or maybe it’s just all that gorgeous, glitter-worthy, pink. 💖 You never know what’s round the corner, and sometimes the most incredible surprises are just waiting for you! 💫
