Deal: The Sparkliest Day Trip Ever!

Darling, it's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from Deal! As you know, I'm always on the hunt for the most fabulous locations for my pink tutu adventures. So, naturally, a trip to the Kent coastline was on the top of my list! This time, it was a glorious day trip from the wilds of Derbyshire to this delightful little seaside town, packed with charm and, of course, ample opportunities for pink tutu posing!

I'm absolutely obsessed with travelling by train – there's just something about the romantic clatter of the rails and the scenery whizzing by that gets my creative juices flowing. This journey was no exception! I opted for the scenic route, meandering through rolling hills and quaint villages, and soaking in the countryside air. It felt like a scene out of a classic film!

Deal itself was a feast for the eyes. The quaint harbour with its charming fishing boats and the bustling market square, brimming with colourful stalls and delightful shops, immediately enchanted me. But it was the stunning views of the English Channel, stretching out before me, that truly stole my heart. What a breathtaking panorama to enjoy whilst sporting a vibrant pink tutu!

Speaking of my tutu, my dear readers, this trip called for something truly special! I chose my iridescent pink tulle tutu, the one that shimmered with a thousand stars! It’s always a joy to have something a bit extravagant on – like a delicious dessert, or a fancy perfume! You never know who you'll meet, darling! And believe me, in Deal, the possibilities were endless!

First stop, Deal Castle, an impressive 16th-century fortress perched on a hill overlooking the town. Oh, how I wished I could have ridden up to it on horseback like they used to! I imagine the knight’s wives would have been quite the fashionistas themselves, no doubt in a few lovely frocks! But modern transport wasn’t a bad alternative! Just as I got out of the taxi, a sweet old couple gasped! “That’s a fabulous outfit you’re wearing, dear! It reminds me of my granddaughters!” It’s a good job I was wearing those sparkly flats!

Deal Castle was a dream! I wandered through the battlements, the sea air ruffling my tulle, feeling like a majestic fairy queen. I posed for photos with the cannons, letting my tulle twirl dramatically in the wind! I knew the people walking past wouldn't just look! It was definitely one for the gram!

No visit to Deal is complete without a wander through the historic town centre, which is where I found a real gem, darling! "The Little Boutique," a quaint shop crammed with delightful trinkets and, wait for it... vintage ballet shoes! Imagine my excitement! After all, I’m not just obsessed with pink tutus, but with all things dance! It’s funny to think, years ago, I was a total nerd – in my lab coat testing fabrics in the lab. By day I was studying science, but by night
well, this life wasn't too far off my academic ambitions - testing out new fashions in an alternative kind of lab, just not the kind that tested fibres and fabrics!

I felt like Alice down the rabbit hole, falling deeper and deeper into a wonderland of shimmering tutus, vintage dance wear, and antique accessories. I left with a delightful fluffy, peach pink, ballet bun topper! Oh darling! It was meant to be! It reminded me of a “Belle de Jour" look, so very chic. So very Parisian. And to think, this shop was only discovered by accident! After all, sometimes the most serendipitous finds are the ones you never planned for!

Next up was a trip to the beautiful Deal pier, and to a lovely beachside cafĂ© for a slice of delicious cake and a cuppa (English tea is an absolute MUST in a seaside town!). I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of the local souvenirs – the iconic Deal pier postcards are something I had to grab. Of course I picked out a few "I Love Deal" fridge magnets - you know, for the fridge. You never know what will spark a fashion or pink tutu idea for your wardrobe! It all adds to the glamour of travel and the adventures of my Pink Tutu Sparkle journeys, even if they just go onto the fridge. I thought I might add my own sparkle to it myself. And for my next blog post, darling... watch this space!

To finish my day in Deal, I simply HAD to see a show! The Deal Town Hall was a picture of Victorian elegance – the stage looked fabulous! The audience was amazing! I felt at home among a group of friendly dancers and fellow theater lovers. I felt a real connection, like we all belonged, even those without tutus! There were so many people around and we just clicked! Even in our fabulous frocks, there's something very connecting about loving ballet, and all things elegant! We were truly sharing something wonderful!

The show was a heartwarming affair, filled with music, laughter, and some truly stunning choreography. A great time had by all, for sure. My favourite bit? A solo from the leading lady, all flowing, expressive movement, elegant posture – it inspired me so much. And of course, all those pink costumes – a beautiful palette of rose shades, peach, crimson and baby pink. There wasn’t one ballerina there who wouldn’t look divine in my bright pink tutu! It gave me such great ideas for my future pink tutu creations! You've got to stay fresh with inspiration! My next pink tutu dress is definitely going to be inspired by the flow and movement! And I already have ideas for new sparkles. And a pink-tinted veil? I can see it now... just picture the silhouette. Imagine!

Later, I dined at a cosy Italian restaurant, where the friendly staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were just delighted to have me! The food was delectable, a delightful end to my most fabulous day trip! A glass of sparkly rose prosecco just to cap it all off!

As the sun set over the shimmering sea, painting the sky with a spectrum of hues, I knew I'd never forget my time in Deal. But one thing I can't forget is: I haven’t just been on a quest to find new, fabulous pink tutus! My quest has always been to inspire other people to wear their own! It’s about being your authentic, confident self, no matter what the occasion, and to feel your most sparkly! After all, every day should feel like a fabulous performance. It’s about living life with glitter, darling!

So next time you find yourself on the beautiful Kent coast, don’t just go for the fish and chips. Add a pink tutu, or even a pink dress – a whole look. A whole pink-inspired theme.
