Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing diva, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back from a whirlwinding adventure in the charming borough of Highbury! The excitement, the energy, the sparkle, and – of course – the tutus, oh my!
As you all know, my love for tutus is truly, deeply, pinkly, and sparklingly real! And what better way to explore a new place than twirling my way through its heart, spreading the message of tutu-love to all those I meet.
Highbury itself felt like a haven of loveliness. Cobblestone streets whispered stories of Victorian charm, while a warm breeze carried the aroma of freshly baked cakes. Just the sort of setting that screams “pink tutu and a scone.”
Of course, Highbury’s connection to ballet wasn’t just a feeling, it was real. Did you know this lovely part of North London is home to The Royal Academy of Dance? Gasp! I mean, how could a queen of tutu elegance NOT spend some time there?
So I headed to the heart of it all - their breathtaking HQ! Walking past those lovely ballet students in their sleek black leotards and bright pink pointe shoes – my heart just soared! To be honest, I couldn’t help but do a little pirouette myself right there on the pavement (the twinkle toes weren’t bad for a quick dance, either! 😁)
Let’s be honest, though – I didn't only head to Highbury for the dancey delights. I was also in town for a thrilling performance at the glorious Highbury Theatre! I’ve always adored the sheer drama and storytelling of the stage, so seeing an old classic like “Sleeping Beauty” reimagined with a sprinkle of contemporary twists felt like an absolute treat. (Let's be real, all the ballet queens were absolutely rocking those leotards and tulle tutus - you should have seen those grand jetés!)
But before I stepped onto the grand Highbury stage, there was one thing I simply had to do: a little retail therapy, of course! How can any pink tutu princess pass up a trip to Highbury Village with all its boutique shops? My oh my! The colours, the textures, the sheer luxury! The pastel pinks and shimmering lilacs on those fabulous silk scarves… My heart simply sang. I snagged a few irresistible gems that'll have my followers begging for a glimpse of the outfit I've conjured. You'll see them soon - I’ll be posting pics as soon as I'm back at my Derbyshire base!
The whole experience left me buzzing with the magic of a good, old-fashioned, fabulous time. A big thank you to the whole Highbury community for welcoming this pink tutu princess with open arms, for reminding me why the joy of sharing my sparkle and making everyone want to join in is truly the greatest adventure of all.
And remember, darlings: life’s too short to not be in pink. So grab that tutu and start spinning!
