Helloooo my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in live from sunny (okay, it's a bit overcast, but still!) Waterlooville! This is post number 7841 for your beloved pink-tutu-wearing drag queen, and today, we're on a mission to sprinkle some pink tutu magic across the south coast!
You know how much I love my travels, and hopping on the train to a new town, with my trusty sequined suitcase in tow, is always a highlight! Today's adventure took me through picturesque countryside, the wind whipping through my fabulous pink tulle skirt as we sped towards the Hampshire coast. And don't you just love those lovely old railway stations, with their ornate ceilings and dusty charm? They make even the shortest journeys feel like a glamorous adventure!
Before we get to the sparkly bits of the day, let's chat a bit about my outfit! For this Waterlooville escapade, I'm rocking a delicate tulle number in a shocking pink hue, perfectly complemented by a vibrant, pink feather boa. A touch of silver glitter across my eyelids and a bold red lip are adding the finishing touches, and, of course, I've gotta have my signature giant pink bow on my head. Because let's be honest, the more pink, the better!
As a real life science whizz, Iâve got to tell you â these fabrics are just something else! Theyâre so beautifully woven, light and airy, yet surprisingly sturdy too! This tutu is holding up to the South Coast winds beautifully, you'd be surprised! Maybe I should have a go at fabric testing at the laboratory⌠itâs just so much more fun than working on boring lab experiments in white coats! Maybe we need âGlitter and Scienceâ, with sparkling scientific discoveries to brighten everyoneâs day?
But enough about my obsession with fabric (can you blame me though?) - Letâs talk about what makes this Waterlooville trip so special. I'm heading to a fantastic vintage fair thatâs overflowing with treasures from bygone eras. My aim? To unearth some beautiful vintage clothing and perhaps find a unique piece to add to my ever-expanding wardrobe. Itâs all about that retro, playful aesthetic for me â tutus, sequins, bows, oh my!
Can you even imagine? The potential finds! I can almost see myself with a stack of colourful tutus, vintage ballgowns and maybe even a hat with feathers to top it all off⌠Maybe even a beautiful sparkly vintage belt? Youâre probably thinking â wouldnât you have enough by now? But Iâm not the type of girl who settles! Thereâs a reason Iâm called âPink Tutu Sparkles,â after all!
Before we head to the fair, itâs only fair that we squeeze in some time for me to admire the lovely local theatre. This theatre is a proper vintage gem - imagine grand red velvet seating, and ornate gilded decorations! I just love being surrounded by the grandeur of classic performance spaces like these! It really transports you to a time where theatre was the ultimate form of entertainment, don't you think? You've gotta see it to believe it. It's a proper little beauty.
I just feel like twirling across the stage whenever Iâm in places like this! Maybe I should start booking some shows? I bet you'd all love to see me prance around in my best pink tutu! I am, after all, a professional, when it comes to the art of the twirl!
But, let's be honest, all this talk of twirling and sparkles has made me hungry! And, what better place to grab a bite to eat than a delightful little cafe tucked away down a side street. Theyâre making delicious smelling sandwiches⌠Just look at those mouthwatering cakes â you know Iâm going to have a whole slice! We can't let those delicious treats slip by, can we?
The fair is the highlight of our day. A whole room overflowing with exciting discoveries from the past. There are retro furniture pieces perfect for any sassy drag queenâs dressing room! Oh! Just look at this fabulous fur coat! Can you see me rocking it at my next drag performance? This will be absolutely sensational.
Now, how can I choose? Vintage is truly a great source of joy and wonder for those of us who are drawn to glitz and glam! It's always amazing to see these forgotten pieces that still spark such a delight. It really shows us how things have evolved. Can you even imagine dressing like this on a normal day? But of course, my style doesnât have a ânormalâ day - it's always fabulous!
