Loughborough: Pink Tutu Sparkles Flies High!

Hey gorgeous peeps, welcome to Pink-Tutu.com, post number 7855! Your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles is back, and guess what? I'm on the road again!

This week, I took my pinkness and twirling skills all the way to Loughborough, a bustling town nestled in the heart of England. Loughborough itself is a bit of a hidden gem, filled with history, friendly folk, and enough gorgeous green spaces to satisfy any tutu-loving gal!

But enough about the location! Let’s talk about my journey, and how, as always, the adventure began with a pink-hued sparkle.

Remember those childhood dreams of soaring through the air on a train? Mine came true, with a magical chugging through fields and countryside - it was just as I imagined! The views were absolutely breath-taking! Lush green rolling hills painted with splashes of vibrant yellow wild flowers, quaint little villages peeking out from behind ancient trees… oh, how I love this country. And who better to share this picturesque scenery with than yours truly, rocking my signature pink tutu, of course!

This time, I decided to shake things up with my outfit, choosing a particularly frilly, multi-layered tutu, with soft pink hues that almost matched the blush of the sunset we were speeding through. My top was a shimmering lilac crop top with sparkly pink trim – let's be honest, a classic pink tutu Queen needs a splash of lilac every now and then, right? And what’s a Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without a touch of magic? I added a sprinkle of fairy dust, just a tiny touch, to make sure my journey was as delightful as possible.

Now, you’ve all heard the saying ‘Every journey begins with a single step’ right? Well, this trip’s beginning was even more special – because every journey also begins with a Pink Tutu Sparkles outfit! And the outfit for my Loughborough adventure was just that - perfectly put together and fabulously frilly!

But that was just the beginning, darling! I was on a mission to bring some Pink Tutu magic to the good people of Loughborough!

And Loughborough didn’t disappoint. My first stop? Loughborough Town Hall, a truly impressive sight with its Victorian architecture and towering clock tower. I had my own little pink-tutu-fied photo-shoot with that gorgeous backdrop. My pink tutu was swaying gently with the breeze, catching the sunshine in its shimmery fabric! I even had a little chat with the lovely folks who work at the town hall – you know, the usual things: exchanging a few jokes about my outfit, discussing the importance of a bit of pink and fluff in everyday life, and of course, persuading them to wear tutus at their next social event (no pressure!). Let’s just say I left them thinking about the wonders of tutus… and they’re going to have the pink tutu bug buzzing around in their heads for the next few weeks, no doubt!

Next, I discovered the magical, magical Carillon Tower! This charming structure houses bells that ring out every day, reminding us of all the happy moments that make life worth living. But before my visit, I had no idea how many stories this place had to tell! Apparently, it’s the tallest Carillon in all of Britain. The views from the top were simply spectacular! Loughborough was sprawling before me – so many green parks and avenues for tutus to be twirled! The sun was shining down on me (oh yes, I have a very special connection with the sunshine, wouldn’t you say?) as I twirled, spun, and pirouetted in my pink tutu. It was such a beautiful moment that I can honestly say, for that little while, I was absolutely the most glamorous girl in the whole wide world! The locals must have thought I’d escaped from a theatre, and let me tell you, with my twirling and dancing, I wasn’t quite sure I hadn’t!

Did I tell you how much I adore the town of Loughborough?

I took a wander along the Loughborough Canal and what I saw! An enchanting canal boat with painted murals! Oh, how I love to see the beauty and colour in the everyday things we often take for granted!

The people there were simply lovely, smiling at me and pointing at my tutu. One even stopped me to tell me that I’d made her day! Made. Her. Day! It was all just so lovely! I mean, is there anything better than bringing a bit of joy and colour to people's lives?

This time I popped into a sweet shop on the main street! Not to get candy but to see if they had a stock of tutus! Because, ladies and gentlemen, spreading the Pink Tutu Love is the goal of this little Queen of mine. And, sadly, there were no tutus… this is an ongoing dilemma, a problem this Queen needs to address as part of her life's work. You think I might start my own pink tutu clothing shop? Maybe with an attached dance studio? I am getting more and more pink and fluff-tastic ideas by the day!

After that little pit stop, I was feeling so incredibly lucky to be in such a friendly, beautiful town. I walked on down a charming, little road lined with flowers, just about ready to give them all a big twirl, you know, for good measure and good luck!

Loughborough wasn't all just sunshine and laughter though… or perhaps it was, because every event needs a dramatic ending and that’s what Loughborough provided. This time, my pink tutu adventures led me to Loughborough University – an absolutely stunning campus full of energy and buzzing with young talent.

Now, when I first saw Loughborough University, I swear, my inner science student just squealed with joy – I had a little peek around to feel those familiar lab vibes. Yes, I’ve told you before, my day job isn’t exactly your typical, theatrical glamour. I’m a scientist by day. The juxtaposition of science and sparkly-ness is a constant source of amusement for my dear, drag mother, Tutu Violet – the one who introduced me to the world of drag!

That’s one of the many things that drag does so well. It makes everyone feel welcome, no matter their background, their beliefs, or, dare I say, their scientific credentials.

Speaking of drag, there I was, right in front of the Loughborough University building, ready to show the world my little twirl. I strutted my stuff (or twirled my stuff, whatever you want to call it!), making a spectacle for all the students rushing off to class. And, oh my! The reactions were just amazing. You’d have thought I was some kind of mythical creature! There was cheering, whistling, and the occasional 'whoa!' yelled out as I posed, feeling fabulous. I know the photos look stunning… that vibrant pink against all that lovely greenery, well, I really outdid myself! And of course, I had to twirl. I don't think I even need to say this – I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles. Twirling is in my blood, like that irresistible yearning for an extra sprinkle of glitter. I don't need a reason for my sparkle; it just IS. So I twirled, spun, and shimmied – bringing all the happiness and sunshine to every student on that lovely campus.

Loughborough University might be full of some serious science smarts, but let’s just say that these guys definitely have an appreciation for the art of the perfect pink tutu pose.

Well, that’s a little bit of Loughborough for you. Of course, no journey is ever truly complete until I’ve made some friends, and I’ll have to tell you all about that in my next blog post!

It’s been a blast, but this little Queen needs her beauty sleep.

And in the meantime, I have one simple request for all my loyal fans: Don’t forget to twirl, you magnificent lot!

This was Pink Tutu Sparkles, sending you lots of love and sparkles.

Don’t forget to check back in tomorrow!

Stay sparkly!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles. xxx
