Today's adventure took me all the way to Edgware, and let me tell you, it was a complete and utter pink-tastic time! You see, Edgware called to me like a siren song, promising a day filled with the elegance of ballet and the thrill of the theatre. But first, the journey! Now, normally I'd whisk myself off on a magical horse ride, but let's face it, darling, there's something quite glamorous about arriving at a station in your best pink ensemble and letting the steam engine do the hard work!
I arrived looking a bit like a walking cotton candy dream. Think bubblegum pink, with a smattering of shimmering sequins and a cloud of tulle billowing around me. This wasn't just any pink tutu either - this was my special "Edgware Dream" creation. Imagine, a fluffy pink tulle skirt with layers and layers of the softest, most delicate chiffon, all sprinkled with glittering pink rhinestones that shimmered with every twirl. It's practically a ballet costume in its own right, but perfect for a day exploring!
After a quick trip to the bakery for some delicious pink iced donuts (the only acceptable pre-show snack!), I sashayed to the local theatre. Now, you all know I adore a good theatre production, and today's was all about ballet, which always sends me into a happy little twirl! It was a dazzling display of talent and grace, and I can't wait to talk all about the incredible performances later in the week. Let's just say it involved gorgeous costumes, a passionate love story and lots of graceful leaping!
Next up was a visit to a fantastic vintage clothes shop. My goodness, you would have loved it. So much pink, it felt like stepping into a cotton candy castle. I came away with the most fabulous pink sequined hat – you'll see it featured in my next lookbook, trust me. A new hat for a new day of fabulousness, wouldn't you say?
But the pink festivities didn't stop there! After a quick stop for a pot of Earl Grey with pink milk (because a girl's gotta keep her energy levels up!), I went to the Edgware Ballet Centre, all ready for some dancing.
Now, you all know I'm a fan of ballet – I even dabble in it myself! Back in Derbyshire, I used to spend hours practicing in the local community hall. You could say I'm a little obsessed with it, which might have something to do with my childhood love of pink tutus... Oh, and maybe a little to do with that fateful day in university when I tried on a pink tutu for a charity fundraiser. It changed my life!
From that moment on, it was pink tutus for me! The end. (Or, actually, it was just the beginning of a magnificent drag career.)
Back to the ballet studio... The centre was buzzing with students, all working hard, their enthusiasm just radiating. It was like a room filled with bright, hopeful energy. I even had a chance to join in with some beginner level exercises. Let me tell you, ballet shoes and a tutu always make you feel like a princess, no matter how many mistakes you make!
Evenings in Edgware called for an extra dose of sparkle, so I naturally booked myself into a drag show at the local pub! After all, I wouldn't want to hog all the spotlight, so I'm always thrilled to support other queens, especially those who dare to embrace the pink. (I'm thinking a few tutu-inspired outfits are in order – gotta spread the love, don't you think?)
And of course, the show must go on! I joined the lineup later in the evening with my signature routine: a blend of ballet moves, some high-kicking fun and a healthy dose of glitter bombs. It was a great way to wrap up the most wonderful pink-filled day, leaving me feeling energized and ready for whatever comes my way next.
