Littlehampton Calling! (Post #7858)

Hello darlings, it's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another travel diary, bursting with all the glamour and excitement of a fabulous summer adventure! Today, I'm taking you to the beautiful seaside town of Littlehampton! It's a destination I've had on my wish list for ages, and let me tell you, it was every bit as enchanting as I dreamed!

Remember that dazzling pink tutu I scored at a vintage shop in Brighton a few weeks back? I couldn't resist pairing it with my custom-designed sparkling silver bodice and fluffy pink feather boa. This combination screams seaside glamour!

My journey to Littlehampton, of course, had to be fit for a queen. This time, I decided to embrace my inner horsewoman and hopped on the vintage carousel horse that lives in the stable outside the local livery yard. What better way to travel to a seaside town than on a majestic creature decked out in its own sparkling pink saddle?! And believe me, the locals went absolutely wild. The kids shrieked with delight and the older folks just stood, transfixed, with little smiles on their faces.

Oh, the memories! But first, let me give you a little peek into my wardrobe choices:

*A Dresserā€™s Diary - The Lookbook: *

  • My Go-To: My trusty custom-designed sparkly silver bodice with a flowing cape edged in pink feathers. This number truly elevates my everyday attire and makes me feel like a million dollars, darling!
  • A Touch of Sparkle: A glittery, neon-pink tutu (oh, so vintage!). It just catches the light and spins like a dream. It adds just the right touch of whimsy to my overall look.
  • Pink is my Favourite: You know I love a good colour! And when it's pink, I simply can't resist. For Littlehampton, I had to pull out a couple of pink accessories to complete my look:

    • Sparkly pink gloves - because who doesn't love a good accessory, right?
    • My Pink Sequined Handbag - Just enough room for my phone, wallet, and a spare tiara (always essential).
    • Pink Feather Boa - Because, quite frankly, no outfit is complete without a splash of fluffy pink!

    A Day in the Life:

When I finally reached the vibrant, bustling centre of Littlehampton, it felt like I had stepped onto the stage of my very own fantasy play. A carnival vibe hung in the air, filled with the aroma of freshly roasted peanuts and sizzling sausages.

I immediately set off to explore the little shops that lined the cobblestone streets, stopping at a charming haberdashery where I discovered the most divine array of vintage trims and sequins. My little fingers twitched with delight! They had a particularly wonderful pink tulle that would be just perfect for a brand-new, oh-so-glamorous tutu - perfect for my next performance, darling! I'm thinking of a ballet inspired number - something whimsical with hints of lavender and blush! I had to buy a whole ten meters, for goodness sake! The owner seemed tickled pink to be serving such a fabulous customer and I couldnā€™t help but give a little shimmy as I paid her.

After my shopping spree, I felt peckish, so I had the most glorious seafood platter overlooking the harbour. The smell of the sea breeze mixing with the succulent flavour of the crab and shrimpā€¦ divine! The local gulls circled above, eager for any stray chip I might throw, but of course, they had no chance. The best bits are always for the queen!

But thatā€™s not all! Later, in the afternoon, I took a little stroll along the beautiful shingle beach, enjoying the warmth of the sun on my sparkly skin. There was such a lively energy in the air. A band of local buskers was playing an upbeat tune as children scampered along the golden sands, building castles and searching for treasures. I simply had to join in the fun! With a playful flick of my wrist and a pirouette so graceful youā€™d think it was straight from the Bolshoi, I led the children in a playful ballet number right on the beach. It was glorious, and all the sunbathers were so entranced, I swear they were holding their breaths in anticipation! Iā€™m not afraid to admit that Iā€™ve inspired them to learn more about the art of ballet ā€“ one of my proudest moments of this trip. I can already see the next generation of Tutu Queens in the making!

An Evening of Elegance

When the evening descended and a magical twilight painted the sky in hues of lavender and pink, I had an unexpected treat ā€“ a chance to grace the stage at a local theatre. A young theatre enthusiast had caught me performing on the beach earlier, and when she heard I was a drag artist, she immediately invited me to perform a mini-show during the theatre's regular intermission performance.

This is the true magic of travel, darling! Never knowing where you will end up next or what wonders await. So, naturally, I dressed the part ā€“ an elegant black floor-length gown with sparkling silver sequins, a shimmering crown, and a touch of pink. Because, darling, even a Queen of pink has to embrace some drama every now and then! I performed an enchanting ballet routine to the tune of ā€œSwan Lakeā€ (with just a hint of modern jazz, of course!) and even managed to coax the entire theatre audience to participate in my iconic pink tutu "clap" routine ā€“ you all know the one I mean. Itā€™s basically an exercise in full, sparkling pink tutu twirls as you clap and shout ā€œPINKā€! It's fun for everyone.

Making a Tutu Queen's Dream Come True

This little beachside adventure has rekindled my passion for travelling and sharing the love for tutus, glitter, and all things sparkly! But thereā€™s more than meets the eye to my journeys. I've noticed that wherever I go, there seems to be a sort of magnetic energy around me. A yearning to explore the wonderful world of performing arts. Whether itā€™s a shy child peeking out from their parentsā€™ arms, curious about my feather boa and pink glittery shoes, or a local dancer hesitantly approaching me after a performance, it seems I inspire a sense of curiosity and boldness. Itā€™s almost like I unlock their inner Queen, reminding them that every soul carries a spark of glitter waiting to shine through. And letā€™s face it, it all comes down to the simple, irresistible joy of twirling around in a pink tutu!

Well, my dearest darlings, I've had an utterly wonderful time in Littlehampton. The warmth of the locals, the dazzling sea, and, of course, the chance to bring a sprinkle of my Pink Tutu Sparkles magic has filled my heart with so much joy. This journey has given me a fresh dose of inspiration for my upcoming performance schedule! Look out for me at the village fayre on the 14th! It's gonna be absolutely sensational!

And remember, darlings, always wear your pink tutus with pride, and never be afraid to let your sparkle shine! Because, like a magnificent flamingo in a lush paradise, we are meant to be vibrant, expressive, and unapologetically ourselves.

Until next time, may your hearts be full of joy and your tutus be gloriously pink!

Lots of love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles, (aka, Alex) www.pink-tutu.com
