Bebington: Tutu Time in the Wirral! (Post #7862)

Oh, my darlings! What a glorious weekend it's been! Your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing queen has been in the lovely Wirral, a little jaunt across the Mersey from my beloved Liverpool. It's a treat to be exploring a new part of the UK, and Bebington is such a charming town!

I arrived in true TutuQueen style, of course, on the train, my latest, magnificent tutu fluttering in the wind. (Can't you picture the scene?!) Pink tulle, adorned with sequined stars and feather boas! It practically screamed, "Hello, Bebington!" (Not literally, I promise, I'm very polite!)

This trip wasn't just a quick flit through the countryside, my loves! I've been whisked away by the lovely folks at the Wirral Arts Centre. A theatre? My Tutu heart nearly burst with excitement! You see, darlings, there's nothing I adore more than a good performance. From graceful ballet to rousing musical numbers, every show holds a special place in my heart. So naturally, they had to get me a guest role, in a ballet they are putting on about… (drumroll)…a sassy pink tutu queen, who is searching for the perfect tutu for their big stage debut! You know me, never pass up a chance to live the dream. And honestly, I can't imagine a better script! It practically wrote itself!

However, I simply couldn't go onstage in my travel tutu, oh no! It's too delicate, too precious! So I headed straight for the Wirral's high street to find the most flamboyant tutu Bebington could offer. Let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed! One little boutique - all vintage glamour and sparkling fabrics - had an absolute dream of a tutu in bubblegum pink! And I tell you what, I nearly forgot to pay. Thankfully the lovely shop assistant reminded me! Oh, the joys of being a fashionista!

Once I had that magnificent tutu safely tucked away, I was ready for a delightful little dinner at one of Bebington's lovely restaurants. Did you know that the Wirral has some of the best seafood in the country? A prawn salad with a delicious little strawberry sorbet! I've found my new favourite holiday treat. (Maybe it wasn't entirely the food that caught my attention though - a pair of dashing gentleman spotted me on the train! Can't blame a queen for enjoying a bit of admiring glances, can we? Oh the whispers of, "Wow, that is one fab pink tutu!")

The next morning, a proper theatrical queen like myself had to brush up on her performance skills! You see, it wasn't just a casual cameo for me. I was about to go up against some very talented ballet dancers, so I thought it only right to get myself a few private lessons. (You know me - never one to rest on my laurels). Now, Bebington might be a small town but its dedication to the arts, it's phenomenal. After only an hour of a glorious, twirling class, I was practically flying through the air, all the way to my second tutu find of the day. (Yep, that's two gorgeous, shimmering, pink tutus within 24 hours, if you were counting. Just your average day for a Tutu Queen!)

The highlight of this delightful journey was, of course, the show! I stood center stage in that fabulous pink tutu and the audience absolutely went wild! The screams! The applause! A sprinkle of magic in a lovely little Wirral town! Honestly, my lovelies, it's a feeling I could never grow tired of. Sharing that love of all things fabulous, with an audience who embraces the wonder, is my heart’s desire. To spread that joy of expression, whether through theatre, fashion, or a sprinkle of pure pink fluffiness.

And you know what? The best part of this journey? The fabulous ladies and gentlemen, young and old, in the audience. You wouldn't believe the look on those children’s faces when I went up on stage! It lit my little heart right up, seeing their big bright smiles. Oh, they all want to be like Pink Tutu Sparkles, they do. And let's be honest, it is a dream job!

As for me, I'm off on another exciting adventure soon! But let's be honest, wherever I go, there’ll be a touch of Tutu magic, and the colour pink wherever I go!

Keep spreading that Tutu magic, darlings!

Yours always,

Pink Tutu Sparkles,

(or Alex, as my mum still likes to call me. 🤫)
