Urmston, My Pink Tutu Wonderland! ✨💖🩰

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the delightful town of Urmston, ready to share my fabulous adventures with you. This is blog post number 7904, a celebration of colour, sparkles and the sheer joy of swirling tulle!

I arrived in Urmston, Manchester, by train of course. Nothing beats a train journey to get the creative juices flowing, with a hot cuppa in one hand and a bag overflowing with potential performance costumes in the other (never too many!). I must say, Manchester is buzzing with energy. My train arrived right at rush hour, the station was packed, but you know, everyone is just getting to their day, a flurry of colourful clothing and quick steps. The city vibe definitely set the stage for some pink-tastic adventures!

I checked into the local hotel, oh my goodness, did they have the cutest pink bathrobe ever! Now that's what I call service! They're truly getting it. They even left a little note welcoming me by name! It read "Welcome back to Urmston, Pink Tutu Sparkles!" I simply melted. So many fabulous events to come!

As I strutted through the streets of Urmston in my signature pink tutu and pink leather jacket (gotta match those ruffles, right?), I realised I had to visit Urmston Market! What better way to find a few pink-tastic trinkets and treasures to add to my costume collection? There I discovered this most delightful vintage clothing shop! I practically screamed "It's pink! More pink than you can shake a stick at!" I scooped up some seriously fabulous silk scarves that screamed “vintage glamour!” – I simply adore silk and sparkles! They were a steal! I had a mini photo shoot in the window – the owner thought I was a living doll – she couldn't believe my dazzling outfit! A fabulous pink and gold-flecked, vintage feather boa to adorn my dress. She insisted I have them for next to nothing. I swear the magic of the tutu just shines.

A quick snack, with my new boa tied around my pink clutch, then I found the grandest ballet theatre in Urmston! You’ll never guess – the theatre is absolutely pink!! I practically cried with joy – there were a collection of the most glorious pink tutus displayed, just like a shop window! Imagine that – my dream! My inner ballerina was doing somersaults! I just had to see if I could slip them on and twirl. Well, guess what? They wouldn’t say no! You won’t believe how fabulous I felt, a vision in pink, twirling across the stage, my tutu flowing behind me, the lights catching the sequins! Even in rehearsal space! Oh my! You have no idea, the dream is alive, I felt like a beautiful bird soaring through the air – it felt so incredible! The dance floor has never been so much fun. The dancers even took a liking to my boas!

Urmston just gets me. There’s a magical buzz. So many fun events here – a festival by the park, with music and colourful stallholders selling gorgeous homemade items. There were loads of pretty dresses and I found another pink feathered boa, for a mere fiver! I had to grab it, it was calling to me, don’t you know. A pink tutu loving queen must collect as many feathers and boas as she can! You can’t ever have enough, it’s a known fact, and the crowd can tell when there are a good pair of boas to behold!

That evening I performed at the grand local fair, what an absolute hoot! All I have to say is, if you’re looking for an absolute riot of fun, check out a fair. My favourite kind, of course, with a circus tent – there were loads of smiling children with big, wide eyes looking at me in awe, some even had pink tutus on! Oh, to be a little girl in a pink tutu again! Oh, what memories I have! My drag family knows how much I love to make my audiences laugh – it's pure magic! I did my famous “Tutu, Tutu” dance with a few more extra spins to please the kids – all pink and glitter with some seriously amazing dancing, it's like an energy surge. You just need to get out there and let those pink tutu feelings flow – what’s not to love! Everyone joined in for a group performance at the end of my act – they had some moves to impress me with – that's what I call community engagement! You see, I have a vision – a pink tutu on every child in the country – and everyone has a part to play, to help us reach that beautiful goal!

You know I adore all things pink, and I know I must mention the absolute best fish and chips shop in the entire world. You’ll find it at the corner of the market, pink walls with a big, pink banner emblazoned with ‘Pink Chips’, the most divine greasy spoon I have ever set eyes upon. I could eat here every night for the rest of my life. Well, except the fish, for this vegetarian! However, the chips were delicious with pink mushy peas! Just divine!

And let’s talk horses, shall we? In Urmston, I’ve had the privilege of spending time at the local stables, a hidden gem that had some magnificent, beautifully-kept horses. These beauties had to wear some serious pink headbands to match my fabulous look. This was my moment of glory. You can find me taking to the local horse trails on a stunning pink saddle with some bright yellow bling. I love the way the sun sparkles off those bits, all a little pink-tastic, with me twirling my pink parasol. This horse and I really understood each other – it even performed some amazing ballerina-style moves in the paddock – my favourite horse, a beauty of a horse – called 'Sparkles', yes, a horse named after me! It felt like a dream! Horses really are a magical animal - and, dare I say it, a natural fit for a pink tutu loving queen.

All in all, Urmston has captured my heart. From the bustling marketplace to the elegant theatres, from the pink fish and chip shop to the magic of the horses, I’ve lived every girly girl’s dream, a true fairytale with a sprinkling of glitter and an endless amount of pink! As I’m sure you’ve already heard – there’s a pink tutu out there for everyone – so go forth and twirl! Until next time! Remember to be kind, spread glitter, and stay pink! 💖🩰
