Pontypridd: Tutu Time! πβ¨
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and welcome to my daily dose of all things pink, twirly, and fabulously fabulous! Today's blog is all about my recent trip to Pontypridd, Wales - oh the sights! The smells! The TUTUs! π
This is post number 7957, and as always you can find it on my website, www.pink-tutu.com, and trust me, you'll want to stick around for this one.
Let's be honest, this week I had a little dilemma. Should I go to the new ballet showcase in Cardiff, a very exciting event I had been planning for weeks, OR hop on a train to Pontypridd for a fun festival? My heart, my soul, it's calling for tutus - even more than ballerinas, darling! And let's be real, this drag queen isn't known for making simple choices!
So, with a quick outfit change (always essential for a queen on the go!) I was ready to rumble, with a full rainbow of pink and glittery ensembles ready to unleash on the Welsh crowd. This outfit? Let's just say it was a mix of '50s glamour and fairy-tale princess. You know, that pink that just demands attention? π The whole lot topped off with a feather boa so fluffy, you'd swear it was made by a cloud!
Now, travelling to Pontypridd from my little corner of Derbyshire was an adventure in itself. I wasn't going to go all sensible and take the car, oh no! No, a train journey, with my little pink carry-on full of sparkly surprises (can't let the glamour slip, darling!), is a far more dramatic choice. After all, every journey needs a dash of fabulousness!
The festival itself was a hoot! Imagine a rainbow of vibrant market stalls, music booming through the air, and more delicious food than you can shake a glittery stick at - all bathed in the gorgeous sunshine. Just perfect for this pink tutu-loving queen!
Now, Pontypridd - where have I been hiding?! This place is seriously beautiful! We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the stunning view from Pontypridd's iconic old bridge - itβs no surprise they call it 'The Gateway to the Valleys'! But let me tell you, with this view, it's not just valleys they are gateway to - they are a gateway to another world. Think sparkling water, rolling hills, and views that'll make your heart sing!
I also met the most darling woman there, a local (what a luxury to live in a place like this) who took us on a quick history lesson of the area. We learnt that this bustling market town was once very important to the coal trade! Can you believe it?! It just makes you see things in a new light, you know? Like, a tutu is very fashionable, but so is history and industrial revolution, am I right? πβ¨
Oh, and the food? Heaven in a plate! My stomach and I fell head over heels for Welsh cakes. Sweet and delicious, all warm and comforting - they had me seriously considering abandoning my train back to Derbyshire!
Of course, this trip wasn't all about sightseeing and market treats. (As much as I love a good foodie fest! π) No, I had a job to do - spread the Tutu Love, you see! I did a quick, impromptu little performance at the festival, just a quick 15-minute set of fabulous! Everyone seemed to adore my set and loved my pink tutu. A little kid in a tutu even joined me on stage β now that's what I call a tutu fairy!
Pontypridd, you are my heartβs true north, my unicorn in a haystack of vibrant memories, a sparkling gemstone amidst a vast, sparkling universe! You filled me with a contagious joy, you understand my soul and embraced me as one of your own. I just know my pink tutu will never forget this adventure! πβ¨
So, my darlings, as I almost run out of the blog space, I say to you this - always be ready for the next adventure, embrace your unique sparkles, and never shy away from a little fabulous!
I can't wait to tell you all about my next trip, so keep your eyes peeled on www.pink-tutu.com! And until next time, remember to⦠wear pink!
With Love and Tutus,
Pink Tutu Sparkles. β¨π
