Frome, My Frockin' Lovely! (Post #7973)

Oh, darlings, let's just say this weekend has been pink-tastic! Frome, nestled in the heart of Somerset, welcomed your favourite Tutu Queen with open arms, or should I say, open champagne flute! 💖🍾

It's official, you guys. Frome has officially earned its place on the map as the "most Tutu-licious" town in the whole of the UK! The cobblestone streets, the independent shops overflowing with vibrant colours, the utterly charming cafes serving the best hot chocolate ever... oh, and let's not forget the stunning, rolling countryside that surrounds it all. Honestly, this place is a dream come true, and the highlight of my entire week!

This is post number 7973 on www.pink-tutu.com , where I, your fabulously pink-tutu'd queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, chronicle my fabulous adventures in all things tutus, travel, and (of course) sparkles! As you know, I love exploring the UK and sharing my joy of dressing up and inspiring others to join me. I dream of a world where every single person struts their stuff in a pink tutu!

Now, you guys know I always arrive in style, and Frome was no exception. It was a glorious, crisp autumn morning when I arrived by train, which, as always, felt like the opening act of a grand theatre performance. It’s the perfect chance to observe the world around me while channeling my inner Grace Kelly - though, I have to admit, my "gloves and pillbox hat" game needs some work!

After my railway journey, my first stop was the charming Frome Independent Market – an absolute delight. Imagine a feast for your eyes filled with beautiful hand-crafted jewellery, unique clothing, local crafts, delicious baked goods and… tutus! You guys wouldn’t believe it, I managed to snag the most exquisite pastel pink tutu with silver sequins! It was meant to be, trust me. ✨

But enough about the tutu, for now… (Because I have to tell you, it truly is spectacular). The market, in its bustling vibrancy, was a fantastic welcome. And who was waiting for me with open arms (and a seriously impressive pair of wings!)? The wonderful team at The Frome Carnival! I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness. These folks are committed to the most vibrant community spirit I’ve encountered in ages – and oh my goodness, did I have fun with them! I had to bust out a specially-created ballet number on stage. I had never performed for so many friendly faces before! You can imagine what a beautiful feeling it was to share my love for the stage with the folks of Frome, their genuine smiles were absolutely priceless. It felt magical, like a scene from my favourite ballet film. 🩰

Frome has really set the bar high. The next day, I had the chance to enjoy a ballet class at The Frome Theatre with the incredibly talented (and patient!) dance teacher, Samantha. This class was for all levels, so I managed to impress the newbies with some impressive "Grand Jeté" moves while simultaneously feeling inspired by the skilled ballerinas in the class. You know, we tutus always aim to inspire! ✨ Samantha made me feel right at home with my flamboyantly fabulous tutu, and the class left me feeling invigorated and full of energy.

Of course, no journey to Frome would be complete without afternoon tea, and where else to indulge but at the delightful The Millhouse Gallery. Oh darling, it was heavenly! Picture this: croissants stacked like towers of fluffy clouds, tea steaming delicately in pretty china cups, all while soaking in the sunshine. Heaven on earth, my dears, pure heaven!

But let's not forget the reason we're here, darlings. To get fabulous, to strut our stuff, and to **shine bright. Frome did not disappoint.

After my ballet class, I had a special evening planned with the lovely folks at The Little Theatre, where I gave my performance! I performed for a fantastic, full house audience - a lovely mix of locals and people from nearby. They were so incredibly enthusiastic! I gave it my all for the evening, my performance truly brought the house down. Everyone danced and cheered along, it felt magical. Even the stage manager whispered afterwards that it was “simply breathtaking” – he even went as far as to suggest I should apply to be the new director!

You guys know me, I couldn't resist the opportunity to meet more fabulous Frome locals. A visit to the Frome Town Council gave me the perfect excuse to have a little chat about local affairs and – of course – my dream to make Frome the official "Tutu Capital of the UK." (It really has everything a tutu needs, you know.)

I have to say, Frome has become a close friend - my heart already aches for the day I must return. It's a place that encourages you to explore, to create, and most importantly, to be bold and fabulous. I mean, have you ever seen such a tutu-tastic place?!

The following day, I even had the pleasure of getting to explore the surrounding area! A quick horse-drawn carriage ride was the perfect way to see the gorgeous countryside. It was like stepping out of a Victorian novel, and it gave me plenty of time to reflect on my journey. You know, tutus aren’t just a costume, darlings, they’re a mindset – a mindset for taking on the world, for embracing every new adventure, and for shining a little bit brighter every day!

Now, darling, I am officially Frome-obsessed - you see it? (And my sparkly handbag doesn’t leave a single town or village without a new addition). As I'm writing this post on my train back to Derbyshire, I know one thing is for sure, I’m not going to let my love of this delightful town, its people, and it’s spirit, fade. My friends, if you’re looking for your next magical adventure, Frome awaits, my loves!

See you on the blog tomorrow! Remember, don’t be afraid to rock your pink tutu – and let’s sparkle brighter than ever!

Stay sparkly,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles

x
