Hello darlings, it’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here and it's time to shimmy onto www.pink-tutu.com for post number 7979. Let’s chat about my adventure to the lovely Aldridge - a little slice of magic that put the "sparkle" in my Pink Tutu Sparkles.
It all started with a frantic call from the delightful folk at the Aldridge Arts Centre. They were holding a special "Tutu Tuesday" and wanted me to grace the stage with my Pink Tutu awesomeness! How could I resist? They even said they were laying on a free tea and crumpet stand, and you all know I’m a bit of a sucker for a good crumpet!
Off I set, a Derbyshire girl in search of a good time and some seriously fabulous pink tutu moments. The journey was magical. After a little time on a fast train with the window open and the wind in my hair (a feeling every proper girly girl knows is the absolute BEST), I found myself walking into the heart of Aldridge. The air was alive with a playful buzz of anticipation, and I could feel the excitement building within me - a feeling that only a good show can create!
The Arts Centre was delightful. I was greeted with wide smiles and the tinkling notes of a piano - oh, the romance! My dressing room, a beautiful old space with warm colours and charmingly old fashioned fixtures, felt like a royal boudoir, only more sparkly. You can never have too much sparkle, right?!
The performance itself was divine! The energy of the crowd was so positive and playful. There was laughter, smiles, and, of course, lots of screaming when I did my signature split. Oh, those screams of approval – the sweetest music to a Pink Tutu Sparkles’ ears!
After my act, I was treated to the most fabulous high tea with scones, clotted cream, and jams - a true treat for a gal like me. The folks at the Aldridge Arts Centre were charming and I found myself surrounded by the kindest, most genuinely supportive people - what more could I ask for?!
As the afternoon faded, and my day of pink tutu fun drew to a close, I sat in the grand old Aldridge railway station, sipping a raspberry iced tea and taking it all in. I had had a lovely time, sharing my passion for tutus, sparkles, and spreading a little bit of magic - that’s what a girl like Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about.
My days as a drag queen take me all over. From dazzling the folks at county fairs and theatre festivals, to taking on the stage in grand venues, it's a wild, glittery ride. But one thing’s for sure - whether I’m performing for a packed audience or a single, adoring fan, every performance is about sharing a moment of joy, laughter, and the sheer beauty of twirling.
So if you see a Pink Tutu Sparkles on the stage, in the theatre, or at a country fair - come and join in! Don’t forget, you never have to wait for a Tuesday for a Tutu.
