This time I'm writing from the delightful coastal town of Broadstairs, nestled on the Kent coastline! If you're looking for a weekend escape full of charm, seaside delights and a healthy dose of sparkle, then you've got to check out this seaside haven!
Now, I'm no stranger to a seaside adventure, but this time I had a feeling it was gonna be particularly special. 🌊 And let me tell you, my gut instinct was spot on!
We kicked off the weekend with a train journey to the coast - now, let's be honest, anyone who knows me knows that I adore travelling by train! 🚄 There's something so romantic about chugging through the English countryside, feeling the breeze in your hair, watching the scenery whizz by… And then there's the added glamour of the fabulous outfit, darling! This time, I was rockin' my new pink sequinned beret and my custom-made, ruffle-tastic fuchsia tutu!
Now, I don't think I've ever been this excited for a seaside trip! Broadstairs seemed like it was calling me, beckoning me to come and dance among the waves! The air was full of salty air, the scent of fried fish and chips, and just that delicious anticipation that only a trip to the coast can give you.
So, we settled into our charming seaside hotel (with a pink floral print wallpaper in my room – I mean, what's more glamorous than a pink tutu and floral prints, right? 💕) and hit the town!
The first thing that caught my eye? A gorgeous boutique brimming with vintage clothing. I mean, every drag queen's dream, darling! 👑 I lost myself in the rainbow of colourful dresses, sparkling blouses and shimmering scarves, and let me tell you, I left with a bag overflowing with treasures!
Later, as the sun began to dip towards the horizon, casting golden hues over the ocean, we found ourselves at the local ballet school! Can you imagine my joy, darlings? I'm completely mad for ballet! From twirling at the barre to performing at the university ballet club during my science days (yes, believe it or not, a pink tutu is a surprising hit in a science lab! 😂), I always make time for a ballet class.
This evening was extra special, because we had a front row seat to a mesmerizing performance by local dance students! The artistry and grace of the dancers were spellbinding, and the performance moved me to tears (that's the power of ballet for you!) ✨ It was a night I'll never forget, filled with exquisite dancing, and more sequins than you could shake a feather boa at!
The following day was all about experiencing the best of Broadstairs – and let me tell you, this town didn't disappoint! We had fish and chips by the pier (which was as glorious as it sounds!), a refreshing dip in the crystal clear sea (while, of course, sporting my pink bikini and oversized pink sunglasses!) and a stroll along the quaint, historic streets. And I'll tell you, this town is full of surprises! Charming boutiques, quaint tearooms and even a fantastic antique shop brimming with vintage treasures! It's truly a place to be discovered.
One of the highlights was a trip to the bustling Saturday market! Now, let's be honest, who doesn't love a good market, full of colourful stalls and unique finds?
It was in the market square where I found my most unusual souvenir – a tiny pink tutu doll, about the size of my thumb! It was absolutely adorable and totally a necessity in my life! 😉
The evening found us enjoying a delicious seafood meal at a cozy restaurant with a live jazz band. Let me tell you, darlings, that jazz was smooth as butter, and I just couldn't resist showing off my new dance moves – twirling under the twinkling lights, letting loose with a show-stopping finale (naturally!) 💖
The next day, it was time to head back home – but let's be real, it felt more like saying farewell than goodbye to Broadstairs! I had the best time soaking up the vibrant seaside atmosphere, discovering its hidden gems and finding my very own souvenir to remind me of this unforgettable escape.
But this isn't just another blog post about a fabulous vacation, my darlings! It's about more than just tutus and seaside escapes! It's about following your heart, chasing your dreams, and sharing the joy of a pink tutu with everyone!
You know, my passion for pink tutus started way back in uni, when I joined the ballet club on a whim. That's when I tried on my first tutu, and, let me tell you, my life hasn't been the same since! The colour, the fabric, the feeling of swirling in that perfect pink cloud… It was like magic! 💫
And, ever since then, it's been my mission to spread that magic to the world! To show everyone the joy, the confidence, and the downright fun that comes with a pink tutu. And that includes my day job! Believe it or not, I'm actually a fabric scientist in a lab! You see, a pink tutu needs the right blend of sparkle, strength, and durability, darling! 😉
But when the day is done, I trade my lab coat for a sequinned bodice and become Pink Tutu Sparkles! And when the music starts, there's no stopping me from spreading the message of love, acceptance, and yes, the absolute magic of wearing pink tutus!
