Today, I'm whisking you away to the glittering metropolis of London! The city that never sleeps, where dreams are made (and the rent is sky-high!) - and yes, you guessed it, I'm wearing a pink tutu!
Now, I know what you're thinking: London and a pink tutu? Surely not! But trust me, my lovelies, pink tutus can conquer any terrain - even the bustling streets of London! After all, as a queen who is half-scientist, half-sparkle-factory, I know that a splash of colour can brighten even the dullest day (and trust me, sometimes the tube in rush hour can be quite dull).
Journey to London by Horse?! 🐴
This time, I didn't get to hop on a train to London (my favourite way to travel!) Instead, I found myself hitching a ride on a horse! Now, I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out! I was in Derbyshire, visiting my mum, when I came across this stunning grey stallion (more my colour, honestly! Haha!). The owner, a lovely lady named Fiona, invited me to join her for a morning ride across the countryside - all dressed up, of course, in my dazzling pink tutu and feathered headpiece. Let's just say, it was an unforgettable way to start my journey to London.
Shopping Spree & A Ballerina's Dream! 💃 🛍️
I landed in London with a spring in my step and a twinkle in my eye. My first stop was a whirlwind shopping spree in Harrods, (a true dreamland for a fashion-loving queen!). It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles blog post without some fabulous fashion finds! So, naturally, I picked up a few (hundred!) gorgeous new pieces, including a stunning pink feather boa, some sparkly stilettos, and a majestic pink velvet handbag. Now, my darlings, you know how I adore ballet! So, next on the agenda, a magical trip to the Royal Opera House, for a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake! The dancing was truly sublime - every movement, every twist, every leap was so exquisite, I could feel the emotion pouring out through the music. Afterwards, I felt so inspired I practically waltzed into the Covent Garden Ballet School and enrolled for a few private lessons (because you know, who needs a proper job when you've got tutus to twirl!).
Drag in London Town: The Highs & The Hops 🎤 🎭
Oh, the wonders of London! This time around, I had a phenomenal opportunity to perform in this extraordinary, lively, cosmopolitan city at The Box! I arrived with my entourage in a gloriously pink taxi (because darling, everything in this adventure had to be pink!) I was filled with excitement, energy, and so much sparkly anticipation - what was London going to be like with my pink tutu present? And the response? My darlings, it was absolutely electric!
I took the stage at the The Box (dressed in, you guessed it, my new pink feather boa) with a performance I'd been working on for months. London’s audience is the most discerning, so I wanted my show to be nothing short of spectacular. It was filled with sassy dancing, outrageous costumes (the sparkly tutu came off mid-routine, which, by the way, made it a total fan favorite!) and a performance that brought the house down - I had the entire venue chanting my name! The energy was contagious! This kind of electric feeling - sharing the stage with people so into the performance – it’s just phenomenal, you see.
Pink Tutu in Every Corner 💖
As I sauntered around London, my eyes were constantly scanning the streets for more opportunities to spread my pink tutu love. From the classic British pubs to the modern cafes, the charming tea rooms to the quirky independent boutiques, I found pink tutus in every corner! My fellow queens and I even made an impromptu fashion show at the National Portrait Gallery - strutting around with a mix of tutus and some gorgeous antique pieces that were more historical than glitter, but just as dazzling.
A Little Tea Time Fun! ☕ 🍰
No trip to London is complete without a delightful afternoon tea, and of course, Pink Tutu Sparkles had to make this special occasion pinktastic. I joined the other queens at The Dorchester's opulent, Victorian-inspired afternoon tea experience. It was filled with decadent pastries and sparkling cocktails that made for a delicious and visually delightful affair! And naturally, the outfits were sensational, but mine was the most magnificent (and most pink) of the bunch, with the colour clashing, delicious cakes and perfectly presented tea!
Pink Tutu Power: Making London Sparkle✨
London, my darlings, has captured my heart, and not just because it's a stunningly vibrant city filled with world-class attractions and friendly faces! London is an adventure for the senses - you never know what you will discover next! As I make my way back to Derbyshire (a beautiful county of rolling hills - no horses there yet though), I feel the pull of that glittering city drawing me back for another dose of pink tutu mayhem.
