Helloooo darlings! Your favourite pink-tutu-wearing queen is back, ready to share the fabulousness of Surbiton with you all! This week, your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles (that's Alex to you) has been shimmying and shimmering around this lovely little corner of South West London, and let me tell you, it's been a dream!
Now, Surbiton is famous for lots of things: its charming shops, its vibrant community, and its stunning greenery. But for me? It was all about the amazing vibe! I swear, every corner of Surbiton is overflowing with positive energy! The people, the shops, the whole atmosphere - just a joy to be around.
The first thing that caught my eye as I stepped off the train? The beautiful Victorian architecture. It's like a living history book, and honestly, I couldn't resist grabbing some snaps for Instagram! Just imagine me, in my sparkling pink tutu, standing against a backdrop of brickwork and wrought iron, looking every bit the star! The light in Surbiton is so fantastic for photo shoots, don't you think? And of course, no trip is complete without my favourite handbag (a vintage Chanel, don't you know!) which is bursting with my secret weapon: my shimmering pink glitter bomb for impromptu photo sessions!
Of course, being the big fashion fan that I am, the shops in Surbiton just had to be visited! There's something truly wonderful about a day out exploring local boutiques, don't you think? And in Surbiton, I wasn't disappointed. The little shops tucked away down side streets were just my kind of discovery – like a treasure hunt. The independent vintage stores filled with fabulous vintage outfits had me practically begging for more. Who can resist a 1950s floral dress? Especially when paired with the perfect pink tutu, of course!
The people in Surbiton have been absolutely darling! I met some lovely souls at the cafe on the corner – a true local favourite that boasts the best homemade cake in the whole of South West London, they told me! A piece of the red velvet sponge with a pot of tea just fuelled up my pink-tutu-powered soul for my next adventure: a tour of Surbiton's delightful green spaces!
Just outside of the bustling high street, there’s a lovely green space, the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the sun – or, in my case, pose in my tutu with a picnic basket full of fresh strawberries! And did I mention the gorgeous gardens?! From the wild, carefree blossoms of the Community Garden, to the elegant symmetry of the arboretum - every green space in Surbiton has something unique and special to offer!
It's impossible to leave a town without a taste of its cultural offerings, don't you think? And, of course, what’s more culturally enriching than a good ballet performance? I just love seeing talented young dancers performing with such passion and grace. Their dedication and commitment truly inspires me! Honestly, I always find myself just mesmerized watching these performances. It’s pure artistry!
The ballet studio I found nestled amongst the shops was the perfect setting for a pink tutu and some seriously chic ballet-inspired posing. I was able to pick up a few fabulous new ballet steps – my "Pink Tutu Pirouette" is now my go-to! Now I just need to find a a graceful swan pose that truly captures the essence of pink. Think a pink feathered boa perhaps, or maybe even some glittery ballet flats… hmm.
Speaking of swan lake and graceful poses, who can forget the absolute marvel that is Hampton Court Palace? Just a hop, skip, and a jump (and a twirl, obviously) away from Surbiton. This historic masterpiece, surrounded by lush, sprawling grounds, is a truly awe-inspiring sight, and I had the honour of seeing it all through the eyes of Pink Tutu Sparkles! The grand hallways and sprawling gardens have never felt so... pink! (I can’t be blamed for feeling just a little extra while wearing my dazzling pink tutu amongst such historic grandeur!). It’s amazing how such beauty transcends time and still manages to make me feel so fabulous, you know?
My heart belongs in Derbyshire, but my travels take me across the country. As I whizzed back to Derbyshire, I sat back, sipping tea in a comfy compartment. My thoughts? My trip was bursting with sunshine and happiness, filled with inspiring performances, glamorous outfits, delicious cakes, and sparkling pink tutus, and the perfect reflection of why I love exploring! Surbiton, you were absolutely sensational! Now, don't worry darlings, I'll be back. Maybe even in time for a summer festival, complete with my favourite sparkly, shimmering pink tutu!
