Anyway, back to my Ilkeston adventures! It all started with the most wonderful journey: I decided to embrace the countryside vibes and hopped aboard a magnificent horse-drawn carriage to Ilkeston. Let me tell you, arriving in style with the wind whipping through my hair was pure magic! Just me and my sparkly handbag filled with lipstick and magic glitter. It felt like stepping straight out of a fairytale.
Once I reached the venue, the excitement levels went through the roof! There were vibrant pink lights everywhere, perfect for creating an absolutely magical atmosphere. My fabulous troupe and I set up the stage, ensuring every inch was adorned with a delicate pink-hued backdrop, perfect for reflecting all the sparkle! The audience, dear readers, were positively buzzing with anticipation.
As the lights dimmed and the spotlight shone on my sparkly ensemble, I knew I was ready to take on the stage. You know me, darling - the colour pink, oh, the joy it brings! So, I pranced onto the stage with a grand flourish, wearing a dazzling pink tulle tutu, paired with a bejeweled bodice and shimmering heels.
The music started and I felt the magic of performing course through me. It's always the most extraordinary feeling to lose yourself in the song, the dance, and the connection with the audience. It may surprise you to learn that by day, I work in a science lab, surrounded by beakers and microscopes. I specialize in fabric analysis, examining the structure, strength, and composition of fabrics – a little more technical than glitter and sparkles!
You might wonder how my love for science and drag combine? Well, you'd be surprised! They complement each other in amazing ways. Science is about exploring and discovering, and I carry this adventurous spirit to my drag performances. I love pushing boundaries, exploring new ways to incorporate themes and visuals in my act. Plus, my work in the lab allows me to analyze materials for costumes, making sure every piece sparkles and shines just right!
It’s funny how both sides of me, the science and the sparkly side, work together so harmoniously. One feeds the other, you know? It’s like science helps me channel my creativity, and the glitter helps me embrace a new scientific experiment: the experiment of being myself, with all my fabulous colours!
