Bridlington, You're a Right Pink Treat!
Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and this is post number 8196 from your favourite, totally free, daily drag blog, www.pink-tutu.com. Ready to shimmy on down with me to the beautiful seaside town of Bridlington? I know you are!
Now, you might be thinking, Bridlington? That's a bitā¦ well, far out there for your Pink Tutu Sparkles, isn't it? Well, darlings, a drag queen never stops discovering new places to bring her sparkle. And besides, I love travelling on the train, and who can resist a seaside escape? It's all about the journey, right? And this one was full of laughter, sunshine, and, of course, more pink tutus than you can shake a glitter stick at!
Speaking of the journey, let me tell you, the train ride was a delight! You know I love to go all out, and letās face it, travelling in style is what lifeās all about. So, naturally, I wore my sparkly new fuchsia tutu. A vibrant fuchsia tutu, a statement, a declaration of colour! You might think, āAlex, darling, you were in the carriage, how did anyone even notice your tutu?"
Well, it's amazing what a smile, a friendly wave, and a perfectly-timed, dramatic twirl can do, wouldnāt you say? All of a sudden everyone was in my show, sharing smiles and laughter. That, right there, is why I do what I do.
But my journey to Bridlington wasn't all about the train, although I must admit it is a favourite mode of travel (have I told you about that time I travelled from London to Edinburgh on the train dressed as a pink-hued mermaid?). No, the real reason I chose to head north to the seaside was the lovely Bridlington Arts Centre. Did you know, darlings, that they've got a theatre in there? Itās truly a diamond in the rough and I just had to bring my sparkle to it.
As usual, my heart was beating with excitement, those familiar butterflies were flitting around, a mixture of anticipation and nerves, always such a part of any performance. But, I also knew that Bridlington was going to be a right peach, if you know what I mean! The stage was ready, the spotlights were shining, the sound system was humming. This show, you see, it was more than just performing - it was about spreading that positive, joyous energy that comes from seeing a Pink Tutu Sparkle up on stage. It's about sharing, laughing, dancing, and most of all, remembering what it means to have fun!
But before we delve into the excitement of the performance itself, letās chat about outfits. Now, as you all know, I simply cannot step out without a fabulous outfit. And this show, it had a beach theme! A pink flamingo and seashell tutu. Now, tell me you donāt just LOVE the idea of that?! I have to admit, the little pink flamingos really took centre stage, giving a nod to my love of the tropical pink! This time around I decided to try a bolder approach and used fluffy pink feathers that tickled as I pirouetted across the stage! And just like that, I was ready for a day of beach-inspired glitter and a sprinkle of magic.
And, let's be honest, my make-up had to be absolutely divine, had to, right? After all, I am always searching for that little extra special āsomethingā. This time, I decided to use my most recent love, āSugar Sparkleā! Yes, darling! And the little pearls were the perfect finish to my ocean-inspired look. It was, in fact, utterly phenomenal!
Then, there I was, on the stage at the Bridlington Arts Centre, in front of a whole bunch of happy faces. Ready to show them what pink tutu magic was all about. The music started, and, let me tell you, I think I took my audience to paradise with that show. We twirled, we giggled, we shared moments of absolute joy.
I don't have to tell you, I left Bridlington completely smitten. I knew I was leaving a little pink sparkle behind in the seaside town! You might think I left on a wave of laughter, maybe a dance or two, perhaps you'd be surprised to find out the local fishmonger wanted a selfie. It all adds up, it makes for another Pink Tutu memory!
Of course, a trip to Bridlington wasnāt all about the performance! As a queen who knows how to party, I made sure to soak in the beautiful sights and sounds of the seaside. After my performance, we went out and got fish and chips! Delicious, messy, fun ā just how a trip to the seaside should be! And there I was, again, in the glorious sunshine, still in my fabulous pink flamingo and seashell tutu! Because, darling, who says you canāt enjoy a delicious takeaway treat with a magnificent pink tutu on? We can and we do!
You know me, I've never met a market stall I didn't like, so I also spent some time exploring the beautiful Bridlington Market, all that colourful vibrance, the laughter, the energy, so inspiring, so perfect! I was even tempted to buy some new, vibrantly-coloured scarves, so perfectly pink! (and just imagine, so beautifully suited to wearing with a fabulous pink tutu). Of course, I am a woman of impulse, so I bought a rather beautiful pair of pink sunglasses. So vibrant, it simply makes you smile just looking at them. Now, my friends, that's what we like, isn't it?
Later, as I enjoyed a delightful walk by the seaside, I had a great conversation with an adorable older gentleman who reminded me just why we do this, we do it for the people! He stopped to admire my vibrant flamingo tutu, his eyes lit up as I did a quick pirouette! It reminded me that my drag, it's more than just costumes and make-up, it's about joy, connection, and a whole lot of magic.
There I was, back on the train to Derbyshire, heart filled with love and laughter, my head swirling with the energy of my show, the salty air still on my cheeks. Now, that's what I call a magical seaside adventure, and I canāt wait for my next one, already planning the next fabulous pink tutu performance! Until then, Iām sending out waves of pink glitter and loving vibes to every one of you, don't forget to check in tomorrow for my next Pink Tutu Sparkle blog!
Remember darlings, wear a pink tutu today and sprinkle some pink magic wherever you go.
