As usual, I'm in my full Pink Tutu Sparkles gear - my favourite, fluffy pink tutu and dazzling tiara – because let's be honest, a bit of sparkle makes everything more fabulous, don't you think?
So, as you lovely lot know, I'm a firm believer that everyone should experience the sheer joy of a pink tutu at least once in their life. And today, I'm sharing the delights of Dover in style, with you all joining me on a little whirlwind trip, from the rolling hills to the shimmering sea.

The Journey:
My heart fluttered with anticipation as the train glided through the green rolling hills of Derbyshire. My home county is a bit of a dream for a ballet-loving tutu enthusiast! The green fields just look so incredibly inviting from the train window!
Reaching the station, I did something a little different this time, because Dover is all about romantic seaside vibes. It was a magical day, with sunshine bouncing off the calm, turquoise waters. So, what’s a drag queen to do? I hopped onto a glorious, cream-coloured horse drawn carriage - the very picture of English charm, even with me perched precariously on top! The gentle clip clop of the horse's hooves filled the air, making it an truly unforgettable journey to my first destination.
Dover Castle - History With a Twirl
The impressive Dover Castle greeted me like a towering warrior. I had no idea this mighty fortress, which once stood guard against countless invasions, had the most stunning view of the chalky white cliffs and the wide, bright English Channel.
You might be thinking, what’s a tutu wearing gal like me doing in a castle, right? Well, believe me, I felt like royalty on those steps, looking out at the shimmering sea and those majestic white cliffs. It truly did feel like an escape into a fairytale. I made sure to have a twirl at every window for the tourists. No-one had ever seen a Pink Tutu Queen on top of Dover Castle before!
The White Cliffs and the Coastal Promenade
Now, we can't talk about Dover without mentioning those famous White Cliffs. Those chalky giants stand tall against the sea and, even though they may look a bit severe, they whisper tales of bygone days, bravery, and even secrets hidden in their soft, white stones. They're almost as magical as a twirling pink tutu!
So I went for a seaside stroll, inhaling the salty air, the wind whipping through my hair (yes, even under a tutu!) as I looked out over those magnificent cliffs.
Dover Harbour - The Sea, The Boats, and My Inspiration
I made my way to the harbour, my inner ballet girl leaping with joy at the sight of the colourful, busy docks and the glistening, dancing waters.
You know, Dover harbour isn’t just about shipping, you guys. It’s also about inspiration. The sea and the ships are about journeys, adventures, and the unexpected.
It just reminded me how far I've come as a Pink Tutu Queen. You can find me anywhere - from charity events in Derbyshire to seaside towns to city squares – as long as my heart is beating with a tutu-clad rhythm, that’s all that matters.
The Secret Pink Tutu Gem in Dover!
Dover may not have a dedicated tutu shop, but let me tell you, a real, authentic Pink Tutu Sparkles must find at least one secret gem on her travels, don't you think?
As I meandered through Dover's enchanting streets, I stumbled upon a charming little shop bursting with a colorful collection of scarves, dresses, and jewellery. The shopkeeper, an elderly gentleman with twinkling eyes, turned out to be a bit of a closet ballet enthusiast, as well as a fabulous sequin and rhinestone aficionado! It seems there was more sparkle waiting to be discovered in the unlikeliest places.
The Grand Finale - The Shakespearean Glamour of Dover's Theatre
My adventures culminated at the Dover Town Hall – the place with the grandest stage I could ever dream of! But the real excitement lay in the upcoming performance – a classic Shakespearean tragedy in full costume! I decided to stay and see this amazing production of Romeo and Juliet. Even though my favorite plays are by Gilbert and Sullivan, Shakespeare was the closest thing to full on fabulous glamour Dover could offer!
Dover is more than just the white cliffs, you see. It's about vibrant culture, enchanting stories, and moments of sparkling, glittering magic that make you believe anything is possible. You never know what's going to happen - the next Shakespearean star might just be the girl with a pink tutu and an oversized personality!
A Tutu for Dover
Now, every place needs to be as sparkly as Pink Tutu Sparkles. The grand finale of any adventure is to spread a bit of tutu-ific joy. I took to the charming town square to showcase some impromptu tutu choreography! The people of Dover weren’t prepared for the rainbow explosion of colour. But when a Pink Tutu Queen starts dancing, no one is brave enough to say "No!" to a little extra sparkle and glee!
Just a few hours ago, I was looking out at those majestic cliffs from a castle, and now, I’m swaying with the locals in the sun, bathed in Dover's beautiful seaside sunshine. The perfect combination, wouldn’t you agree?
More Than Just a Tutu Queen - A Pink Inspiration
Look, you don't have to be a drag queen to enjoy a tutu. You just need to have an adventurous heart and a little sparkle in your step! That's what I learned in Dover.
