This past weekend was an absolute whirlwind of glitter, giggles, and good times, and I'm so excited to share it all with you! It started with me getting all glammed up in my studio. Honestly, this week's look is a total show-stopper. Imagine a shimmering, blush pink tulle tutu that practically screams "look at me!". Paired with a matching feather boa, a heart-shaped pink sequin bodice, and sparkly, pink, high heels, this look was truly fit for a queen. And, of course, no Pink Tutu Sparkles look is complete without my signature, bright pink lipstick!💋✨
Now, you know how much I adore travelling, and this trip to Bishop Auckland was no exception. I chose to arrive in style - by train! The scenery is always stunning, and I have a special knack for befriending the fellow travellers, most of whom have never seen anything quite like me, especially when they see my massive luggage bag that contains not one, but several different pink tutus! 😜 They often tell me they've never seen so many tutus in their life! It's truly a joy spreading tutu-love around the nation!💖
We arrived at our hotel just in time for some well-deserved afternoon tea. Seriously, my dear, what could be more fitting than a quintessentially British treat served on pretty, floral china, in the most delightful afternoon tea setting! It felt straight out of a storybook! I must confess I opted for a cheeky pink-tinted cupcake instead of a scone. The lady in the cafe loved it when she saw my pink tutu and we ended up having a lovely little chat. There's something so wonderfully connecting about a shared love of a delightful little pink cupcake, don't you think? 🍰
But, the highlight of the day was, of course, the performance! It was a beautiful venue - imagine a theatre lit up in warm gold, complete with elegant red velvet seats. A sea of sparkling, happy faces in the audience was just what I needed! 💖💃 I was lucky to have a super sweet crowd! They roared with laughter and cheered when I started to perform, making my heart burst with happiness! My set was a glorious explosion of pink! I started off with my signature number - a flamboyant, hilarious routine to a modern pop song. Next came a slow, elegant dance in a beautiful, layered tutu that just floated around me.
There's no better feeling than seeing the audience lose themselves in the music and the movement, especially when they start to dance along! That's the power of a good tutu and the beauty of performance! 🤩🥰 It just reminds me of why I do this - to make people smile and bring a touch of sparkle to their lives. 💖
And speaking of sparkling, Bishop Auckland has a stunning array of twinkling gems! From the magnificent Auckland Castle to the Bishop Auckland Museum and even a quirky, independent craft shops with adorable, quirky decorations, this place truly is a little gem. We spent the morning wandering around, marvelling at the architecture and the fascinating history of the town. Oh! We also made a pit-stop for some local honey and biscuits for our ride back!🍯 🍪
In the afternoon, we visited a stunning cathedral, where we watched the most captivating ballet performance, set to the iconic score of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. I know! Can you imagine?! Me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, enjoying a classically beautiful ballet show! Turns out the whole audience was fascinated by me! I must say, my pink tutu actually coordinated rather nicely with the elegant colours of the costumes in the ballet. 😉 It's wonderful to remember that every day can bring a chance for some magic and a sprinkle of wonder. 🩰✨
On my way back to the station, we met this fabulous woman who loved the colour pink. I mean, how can you not? She absolutely adored my tutu and, believe it or not, even pulled out her own tutu, a delicate, shimmering number in lilac. I couldn't believe it! The universe is just full of lovely surprises like that! ✨💖 She insisted I teach her some ballet moves and we laughed for hours on the platform! You never know who you'll meet and what joy will spark in the most unexpected ways, right?
