Hiya darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the wonderful city of Liverpool! I simply had to share my latest adventures with you lovely lot, because honestly, it's been a total dream! I mean, what's not to love about this fabulous city? The history, the architecture, the people – and the sheer amount of places to twirl in a tutu?! It's absolutely bonkers!
Train Travel: First Class with a Flourish
My journey to Liverpool was a dream come true! You know me, I love travelling by train – something about the rhythm of the wheels, the changing scenery, and the feeling of being whisked away to a new place just does something magical. Plus, I was in first class! It's all about making a grand entrance, isn't it?
I donned my most flamboyant outfit for the trip – a dazzling fuchsia frock with an outrageous ruffled skirt (tutu vibes, obviously!) paired with a pink feather boa that would have put even a flamingo to shame! It's all about making a statement, and honestly, it just makes the journey so much more fun. I spent the journey doing a bit of people watching, catching up on some reading (did you know the colour pink can actually improve your creativity?! Fascinating!), and of course, planning my fabulous Liverpool escapades.
A Fairy Tale Come True at the Theatre Royal
Liverpool is practically brimming with beautiful old theatres, and you know I couldn't resist seeing a show! I popped down to the Theatre Royal to watch "A Midsummer Night's Dream," a classic! It's always magical seeing live theatre, but with that beautiful backdrop and the incredible costumes? It was an absolute triumph. And, don't worry, I'll have a whole separate post dedicated to my theatre outfit. Think sparkly, dreamy, and a touch of magic… just like a real-life fairy!
Dancing Under the Stars: Liverpool Ballet School
The ballet! It's in my blood! Liverpool Ballet School just HAD to be on my list. I mean, the whole reason I started with the pink tutus was thanks to a charity event in uni where I ended up trying one on – and the rest, as they say, is history! It felt so amazing to be back in the studio, learning a new routine, and feeling that rush of adrenaline when you nail a step.
Now, I'm not gonna lie – my ballet skills need some serious dusting off, but the atmosphere at the school was just so warm and welcoming! Plus, I did a little photoshoot outside afterwards, just to commemorate the occasion, naturally. You can find the pictures on my Instagram – @pinktutusparkles, of course! It was just a beautiful day – the sunshine, the colourful building, and me, in my pink tulle and glitter – it's hard to beat!
A Whirlwind of Pink: A Day Shopping for Dreams
What's a trip to Liverpool without a spot of shopping? And by a "spot," I mean a whole whirlwind of fabric and fabulousness! There were shops galore, from independent boutiques to big name stores – I literally felt like a kid in a candy store! And of course, my eyes were peeled for pink! Pink bags, pink shoes, pink scarves – you name it! You know me – I've gotta find something to bring back home for my collection.
My heart went pitter-patter at a particular boutique with an amazing window display of beautiful vintage dresses. It was like a fairy tale come true, and of course, I had to pick myself up a delightful piece. Can't tell you what it is, it's going to be a big surprise on my next blog post! I promise you, it's absolutely worth the wait!
Taking the Stage: Spreading the Pink Love at the Philharmonic Hall
And what is a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a little drag show? I was invited to perform at the Philharmonic Hall – can you believe it?! They actually hired me! What an honour!
The Philharmonic Hall, folks, it's simply breath-taking! And my performance was epic! Think dazzling lights, music, fabulous costumes (we’re talking more tulle than you could possibly imagine, obvs!) and the loveliest audience you could ever dream of. The response was unbelievable. I actually received a standing ovation. And guess what, I even convinced some audience members to wear pink tutus after my act! That’s what I’m talking about – spread the pink love! I knew it!
A Pink Paradise in the Mersey's Embrace
And no trip to Liverpool is complete without a trip to the famous waterfront. Honestly, you could walk for miles here! It's amazing. You’ve got The Beatles Story (we all love a bit of Beatlemania, right?), the docks, the Albert Dock – it’s all just magical!
I found a lovely bench overlooking the river Mersey, just soaking up the atmosphere and admiring the architecture. It was all so beautiful. I actually sat down on the bench and pulled out a book I’ve been wanting to read – “The Colour Purple,” which happens to feature pink tutus! A delightful little coincidence, right?
Farewell, Liverpool! Until We Meet Again!
This trip was just a dream come true! From dazzling theatres to ballet studios and vibrant streets bursting with colour, Liverpool, you've stolen my heart! I have so many more stories to share with you – I'll tell you all about it on my next post.
