Hey my fabulous followers! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to share all about my fabulous trip to Worthing. I mean, where else would I be on a day like today than a town with such a name, eh? 😜
I just knew I had to head over to Worthing for this latest escapade. I mean, it's not every day you get to visit a town that’s practically made for Pink Tutu Sparkles! And let me tell you, it truly lived up to the hype. The sun was shining, the seagulls were calling, and even the seagulls seemed to have a certain “fabulousness” to them - I'd call it that “Worthing Wave.” 😂
My journey began, as usual, with a trip on the train. I don’t mind the occasional car trip, of course, but nothing quite beats the luxury and charm of travelling by train in full drag. And believe me, full drag means FULL drag! From the sequined crop top and feather boa to, yes, the magnificent pink tutu, my entrance onto that train platform made a few heads turn, and some mouths drop - just the way I like it! I love to get people’s reactions when I waltz in wearing pink tulle and glitter in broad daylight, just doing what I do. A little sparkle goes a long way in making the world a brighter place, darling.
The ride was delightful, especially the chance to get a proper good view of the countryside, or as I like to call it, my own personal runway. Now, I don’t always travel by train; sometimes I get on my favourite, little, very pink horse. You know, "Pinky", my sweet little Shetland. He really gets me around. I take him to fairs all the time - " Pinky and The Tutu." We get along so well and always have a grand old time on the fairground. 🎠 🎡 I'm telling you, he's the best travel buddy you could ask for.
Anyways, enough about the journey – let's get back to Worthing! It’s safe to say, darling, I made a real splash - in every sense of the word, lol. I love a bit of seaside. Just the thought of a dip in the sea (with my new pink tutu beach towel - can you even imagine how fabulous that looked?) was enough to set my sparkle meter soaring. I actually took "Pinky" on this trip and even dared him to take a little dip in the shallow end!
Speaking of “fabulous,” have I told you about the shops in Worthing? Oh my word, I simply couldn't resist. I had to snatch up a new, absolutely divine pink tulle feather boa that could only be described as heavenly. It even had sparkly sequins all over, it was just pure fabulousness. The woman in the shop was so nice. She let me pick up everything and twirl, I felt like a princess. 👑 I know I’ve already got a few boa's but it's all about expansion, my dears, about finding your true pink tulle boa soul sister. 😜 I also treated myself to a pair of gorgeous pink pumps, you know, the type with the chunky platforms - oh so sassy, darling. It was the perfect combination to complement my latest pink tutu masterpiece – a truly exquisite ensemble! 💃
But darling, it wasn't just the shopping that captivated me; Worthing has an absolute abundance of lovely things. There are lots of places where I can show off my dance moves and, dare I say it, perform in my full tutu regalia. In fact, I did just that – a fabulous drag show at the theatre! It’s always exciting to show up somewhere with my tutu on and then do a full dance performance with dramatic moves and bright pink and rainbow sparkly lighting - and a little surprise "smoke machine" finale - it’s absolutely divine, just wait till you see it! And the best bit? The audience absolutely loved it! They went wild with cheers and whistles. There was so much applause that you could probably hear it right across the whole seaside town! Oh my, they are so lovely, the good folks of Worthing, truly some of the most enthusiastic tutu-loving folk around. 🤩
Speaking of loving, I really must tell you all about the little ballet studio I found, I had to make the most of this glorious weather. There was even a class being run in the lovely sunshine – it really is such a special town. You might know that I absolutely love a little ballet lesson. Nothing says, "Hello sunshine, let's twirl" better than an afternoon at the ballet, in a tutu of course, right?
There I was, learning graceful leaps and elegant spins alongside all sorts of sweet people. They all looked a bit bewildered by me in my hot pink tulle, I'll grant you, but you should have seen their faces after the first spin. My tutu billowed out around me, sparkling like a pink cloud, I reckon a few jaws hit the floor! 😂 And let's just say the studio owner was absolutely delighted with my dramatic, tutu-filled entry, he couldn't have looked more impressed if he tried. "Oh, darling!" I whispered to him after a little curtsey, "it's my passion!”
It was such a wonderful way to spend the day. A mix of shopping, performing, ballet, and sunshine - now that's what I call a fabulous Worthing Wave !
The only thing I miss, of course, is my beautiful Derbyshire hometown. And I just have to give a shout-out to the University of Derby, my first ever real home for fashion! I studied science you see, but also spent my weekends at university ballet classes in the club. It was where I discovered the magic of wearing pink tulle - what better charity event to wear a pink tutu than at a ballet dance for donations, right?
Oh, before I forget - a little secret I want to share with you all. You might already know that I have a little day job where I’m basically a real-life, pink-tutu-loving science fairy. 😂 Yep, that's right, my dears, by day I'm a fabric scientist! So basically, I'm a queen of sparkly materials in my lab by day, and a fabulous drag queen on the streets by night, all powered by a generous amount of love and glitter! Oh my god, imagine my joy, I get to live with sparkles and colour every single day of my life! 😜
