Hanwell, Here I Come! (Blog Post #8488)
Hello, darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the train to Hanwell! Today's outfit? Well, obviously, pink tutu, of course! This one is a special one, it's my "Hanwell Harmony" tutu, all swathes of lavender tulle with sparkling silver sequins scattered like the stars above! I've got my favourite blush pink handbag on, it's got a little secret compartment for my feather boa (just in case I need a dramatic entrance!) I'm really excited to be in Hanwell tonight because it's rumoured to be a bit of a hidden gem for vintage clothing stores, and I've got a new stage outfit to buy.
Now, let's rewind a little. How did I even get here? Well, after a brilliant weekend performing at the Bakewell Vintage Fair, it was time for a change of scenery. You see, a good queen always keeps on the move, embracing the excitement of the unknown. So, off I trotted to the station (it's a good job I like trains - you know, long journeys in tight sparkly outfits can be a bit uncomfortable for a seasoned pro like me). But that's part of the fun!
As usual, the train ride was a bit of a journey, and I took the opportunity to catch up on some blog posts and even finish my latest cross-stitch. Yes, that's right! This queen has got skills! This week it's a cute ballerina dancing under a moonlit sky – fitting, wouldn't you say? My new pink knitting yarn from the "Spinning Wonders" shop in Derby looks beautiful, though. I think it will make a fantastic new pair of leg warmers to go with my sparkly rainbow tutu for my upcoming performance at the "Festival of Fabulous Fabrics" in Manchester! I'm not sure why my favourite hobby seems to be getting all tangled up in thread and wool, it’s quite the opposite to my daytime work! I know I am going to surprise people with my knitting when I take to the stage this Christmas.
Anyway, back to the adventure...
You wouldn't believe what happened on the train! I was admiring the view – honestly, who doesn’t love looking out the window while wearing a pink tutu on a train?! Well, a lovely gentleman sitting opposite me struck up a conversation! He turned out to be an enthusiastic member of the local theatre group and even confessed that he had secretly been to several of my performances in the past! I always say, you never know who you'll bump into while wearing your Tutu! It is an unwritten rule – every queen's must-have outfit, because with a pink tutu you really do bring a touch of magic to the world! It turns out, there’s a lot of enthusiasm for pink tutus in this neck of the woods. That's my mission in life, remember, to turn the world pink tutu pink one tutu at a time! Maybe next time, he’ll come in full sparkly regalia with a tutu too!
As you can probably guess, my performance in Hanwell tonight is going to be a celebration of pink tutus. I've got a special routine prepared with my favourite sparkly, pink and fluffy tutu and my sequined cape with feather trims (it makes the perfect twirling motion for my finale!). It's all very glamorous! Of course, my signature move, the 'Twinkle Toes Triple-Turn', is going to make an appearance. You've just got to see it to believe it, darling. It's going to be fabulous. I’m planning a whole series of pink tutu routines featuring lots of amazing, vibrant costumes, my dancing will truly be a delight to watch.
Speaking of fabulous… what's a girl to do to get in the mood for a night of glitter and sequins? Why, a nice bit of shopping, naturally! That's why I have booked a nice long stop-off in Hanwell to browse the shops! After my performance, I might treat myself to a fancy dinner - Hanwell has an excellent reputation for cosy, charming cafes with cakes as pretty as the little pink roses I always tuck behind my ear.
I just know that this trip is going to be one to remember, filled with adventures, discoveries and of course, a healthy dose of pink tulle. I'll be sure to fill you in on all the details tomorrow – with lots of pictures! Don’t forget to pop over to www.pink-tutu.com for a little glimpse of all the sparkly delights. Remember, darling, always be fabulous!
