Hello darlings, it's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with post number 8514! Today I'm bringing you a whirlwind of a blog post from my recent trip to Broadstairs, Kent. The weather was gloriously sunny, the sea air was fresh, and, of course, the pink tutus were out in force! 😉
Now, I know some of you are thinking, "Alex, Broadstairs? That's not exactly a glamorous destination." Well, let me tell you, with a little bit of Pink Tutu magic, ANY place can become a fabulous playground! This coastal town may be small, but it has a charm all of its own. Imagine picturesque Victorian houses lining the streets, beautiful beaches where you can build sandcastles fit for a queen (and her loyal court of tutus, of course!), and a vibrant atmosphere perfect for a bit of pink sparkle!
Before I even set foot in Broadstairs, the journey was a blast. You know me, I adore train travel! I boarded the train from Derbyshire in my most fabulous, sequined tracksuit, because a queen always dresses to impress, even on the commute! And let me tell you, fellow tutus, this was no ordinary train journey! It was packed with tourists excited for the summer, so I got to spread some pink cheer and sprinkle a little sparkle with my vibrant, glittery personality! My fellow passengers couldn't help but grin at my pink, glittery nails, and I caught a few admiring glances as I adjusted my glitzy sunglasses for the sun. I even got to practice a couple of my signature spins, much to the amusement of a little girl who, let's just say, instantly fell head-over-heels for my pink-tutu-clad figure. She even wore a little pink flower headband, so we had an instant tutu-tastic connection!
By the time I arrived in Broadstairs, I was ready to conquer the seaside with my flamboyant spirit! Now, if you know me, you know my favourite way to see a place is by HORSE! I adore riding, and Broadstairs has some of the most beautiful trails. Imagine me, a vision in pink tulle and a bright pink riding helmet, trotting along the cliffs overlooking the breathtaking English Channel! Talk about picture perfect, right? My inner princess felt fully alive as the salty breeze danced around my tutu, while I marvelled at the incredible coastal views!
Speaking of breathtaking, darling, Broadstairs also has this adorable theatre called the Theatre Royal, nestled right in the heart of the town! They often have amazing ballet performances, and let me tell you, the moment I caught wind of their upcoming production, I booked my tickets, pronto! Seeing a ballet performance while dressed in a fabulous pink tutu felt like stepping into a fairy tale! As the dancers gracefully swirled around the stage, I could feel the pink energy radiating throughout the entire theatre. It was a true symphony of dance and fashion, and I just couldn't help but grin at everyone, my pink tulle swirling along with the choreography. It's all about enjoying those simple, fabulous pleasures!
But Broadstairs isn't just about tutus and ballet! The town is bursting with creativity! Every little corner seems to hold a hidden treasure, whether it's a charming antique shop overflowing with vintage wonders, or an artsy cafe that looks like it popped straight out of a magazine. You know me, I have a bit of a soft spot for all things pretty! Of course, I had to find a special piece of pink in this charming town, and let me tell you, I struck gold in an antique shop called 'The Dusty Dollhouse'! Now, imagine a little shop overflowing with treasures that seemed to shimmer like a kaleidoscope, a shop that felt like stepping back in time. But in the midst of all the dusty delights, I found it - a vintage pink satin clutch, complete with sparkling diamante embellishments. This bag was made for a Pink Tutu Sparkles, darling, it's all I can talk about! My hands nearly shook with excitement when I snagged it for an absolute bargain! I am already dreaming up all the fun events I can carry this beauty to!
Let me tell you, dear tutus, shopping for tutus is one of the great pleasures of life, and Broadstairs delivered in this department! My trip wouldn't be complete without scouring every charming boutique in the town for the most perfect additions to my collection! One of the highlights was a little vintage clothing shop nestled between two Victorian gingerbread houses, it was like finding a secret oasis! The owner was absolutely lovely, so I just HAD to spend a good hour rummaging through her treasures, a girl's gotta indulge in a little retail therapy, you know? This time, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a stunning, silky pink tulle skirt, perfect for a summertime dance with the wind! Just wait until you see this little number paired with my vintage clutch, talk about making a splash! 😉
And here is a tip, my dear tutus, whenever you are in Broadstairs, be sure to try the famous Fish & Chips! Yes, I know, this sounds like a random suggestion for a pink tutu queen. But, I love how much the locals champion their food, and trust me, this seaside delight, paired with the stunning sea view was simply divine. You know what I mean, the perfect pick-me-up after a busy day of tutus and twirling! It’s about appreciating the simple pleasures of life, a good bit of comfort food and gorgeous views. Now, I must confess, the greasy fried fish may not be as "pink" as the rest of my wardrobe, but it made for the perfect finale to my Broadstairs adventure! It’s about embracing every moment, all the colours, and even the moments where it’s just pure, unadulterated fun, just like those beautiful fish & chips with that stunning ocean panorama.
As always, my darling tutus, remember that life is an adventure, a stage for your own personal show! With a little bit of sparkle, a touch of pink, and, of course, a dash of courage, we can make every journey, no matter how ordinary, a grand tutu-filled affair!
