Bonjour mes amies! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the City of Lights, Paris! This amazing city, known for its historical charm and incredible artistic spirit, has captivated me in a way I never expected. It’s like they built the whole place around me – and I mean that in the most fabulous, tutued way possible!
This journey has been a real whirlwind of excitement. You see, getting to Paris has been a long-held dream for me. It's not just the delicious croissants and macarons that entice me, though let's be honest, those are pretty major drawcards! No, Paris calls to my soul, whispers sweet promises of elegant ballrooms, charming cobbled streets, and endless possibilities to embrace my inner Parisian glamour.
Before we get lost in the pink and sparkly delights of Paris, I need to tell you all about my fabulous journey! This time, I travelled by train, sashaying through the French countryside. Yes, you read that right - I took the train, a real testament to my sustainable and stylish lifestyle. And let me tell you, even in a carriage crammed full of Parisians, my pink tutu did not fail to make an impact. In fact, I saw a little girl giggle and point at me – she’s going to be a tutu queen one day! The little tyke is proof positive that my mission is succeeding - spreading the joy and sparkle of the tutu to every corner of the globe!
And now, for the big reveal! Paris is bursting with inspiration for a Tutu Queen. It's everywhere you look, the incredible architecture, the vintage boutiques, and the cobbled streets that whisper secrets of fashion and dance. The Parisian art scene truly embodies the spirit of transformation, which is precisely what drag is all about. Think shimmering sequins, exquisite feathers, and bold makeup – all elements of haute couture that, like a tutu, embrace bold transformation.
Speaking of transformation, one of the things I wanted to experience in Paris was a ballet class. Let me tell you, my inner prima ballerina had a grand time twirling in a real ballet studio, all the graceful and elegant steps with expert instruction, it was an experience I’ll never forget. It felt as if I’d been waiting my whole life to take on the Paris ballet scene! My pink tutu felt perfectly in its element in the hallowed halls of this incredible art form, adding my own personal touch of whimsy and delight to the whole experience.
Speaking of twirling, I also made my way to the iconic Moulin Rouge – and let me tell you, my pink tutu fit right in. Think glamorous showgirls, shimmering sequins, dazzling dance numbers – this is drag perfection. This is how you create memories to treasure. You see, Paris just has this magical air about it that encourages self-expression, especially when it's all dressed up in fabulous pink tutus!
But this trip was not just about embracing Parisian glamour. Oh no, there was work to do, shows to perform. As a Tutu Queen, you need to keep those artistic fires burning bright. I brought a whirlwind of colour and glitter to the stage, embracing my love of both theatre and cabaret with some unique acts, filled with a lot of heart and soul, and just a sprinkle of magic, and my own signature spark!
And the reaction? Let me tell you, the audiences were captivated. I performed for a variety of venues; a trendy cabaret club nestled on the Parisian rooftops, a traditional French market bursting with life and colour, and a cozy café in a historic district that embraced a sense of creative expression and artistic freedom. It was a beautiful exchange of artistic energy, full of laughs, joy, and pure pink tutu delight!
After the dazzling lights of the stage, the Parisian cafes beckoned. They are the heart and soul of Parisian life, havens of creativity, chatter and good company, a little oasis for reflection after a thrilling show. I have enjoyed sipping my way through their menu of delightful lattes and freshly squeezed orange juice, always in the company of my fellow Tutu lovers. There's nothing like a good catch up to end a fulfilling day!
