Hove, You’re Looking Flawless!
Hello my darlings, and welcome to Post 8575 on www.pink-tutu.com!
The train journey down from Derbyshire was as lovely as ever – there’s nothing like a nice cuppa and a chat with fellow travellers to put me in a great mood. It makes me feel a bit like I’m back in a vintage ballet film – you know, all those glorious scenes of beautiful women getting ready for the opera in elegant attire, chatting amongst themselves – I definitely bring that same level of excitement and fabulousness! The landscape whizzing by is just beautiful and inspiring too – I find myself sketching new outfits, dreaming of sparkling fabrics and sequins, imagining the perfect colour combos to wow my Hove audiences with. I don’t think I could have designed a more stunning and impactful ensemble, even with all the creativity in the world, if I didn’t get the same dose of inspiration from nature that I do each day.
I’m not a scientist by accident you know, I have an analytical eye for colours and textures - I can see how all of these different elements work together and can predict a look with such clarity that sometimes it's scary!
I’ve arrived at the Hove Town Hall a few hours early and am about to make the most of the beautiful architecture, taking photos, imagining myself twirling like a whimsical ballet ballerina, in my latest design! There's so much glamour and inspiration here - it makes my heart beat a bit faster. If you ever get a chance to visit Hove – take your camera – and if you’re a fashionista, take your sketchbook! You might find it impossible to contain yourself and end up sketching out a whole collection just like I did today! I even snagged some ideas for future performances!
A couple of my fave designers had shows at Hove Town Hall recently, and if you’ve seen the fashion pics on Instagram you know, these people are seriously talented and bring an incredible level of excitement to the world of fashion, pushing boundaries and blurring those traditional lines in such innovative ways! As always, I'm ready to embrace new trends, reinvent and give them my Pink Tutu Sparkle twist – just wait to see my newest design for Brighton!
Of course, before every performance I have my beauty ritual down to a T, all carefully orchestrated so I have no time to think – I don’t need to plan what to do next - It’s all instinctive and I just flow into the persona of Pink Tutu Sparkle the second the music begins and that dramatic lighting shines on me on stage! It’s like an actress transforming into her character - all the worries of the day melt away – I become the essence of all the love and joy I share with everyone in the audience.
Before I head to the venue, a little self-pampering is always on the agenda - and my Hove suite is absolutely fabulous - with a balcony – a girl has got to have her balcony, it’s perfect for a glass of wine while I soak up the sunshine before the big show! But, first things first I need to transform - you can’t perform a spectacular show without feeling your absolute best, inside and out. And of course I’ll post it on Pink Tutu Sparkle’s Instagram because we all need a bit of extra glam in our lives.
If you are reading this in Brighton and Fancy seeing the Pink Tutu Sparkle show in Hove Tonight, check your local posters – and come join me for an unforgettable evening of fabulous, a night of colour and tutus.
You won’t want to miss me in my new tutu. My dear friend Maxine has been doing her magic again - she has such an incredible talent with colour. She hand stitched my tutu this time – It’s like an explosion of pastel pinks, vibrant bubblegum colours and an outrageous shade of purple, with little sparkly stars that shimmer in the dark. And of course, it wouldn't be complete without my sparkly pink top!
Maxine helped me design a matching pink and purple wig, with little pink bow accessories that match my heels and a pink star that I wear on my cheek - Maxine says my new look is a real beauty.
To top it off – my friend, Charlie, created a sparkly makeup look with an explosion of glitter around my eyes. So yeah, the entire outfit is basically designed to shine and I can’t wait to wow the audience, sparkle under the lights – bring them all a little Pink Tutu Sparkle magic.
Today was about fashion and design. I love all the shops, galleries and the fabulous architecture - this city feels full of possibility and a sense of exploration - and of course, a healthy dose of fabulousness. The perfect ingredients for a fabulously fabulous time, for this Pink Tutu Queen, you know.
I was even more excited today as a couple of my favourite drag artists performed at Brighton Fringe. We met up in the backstage dressing rooms - they had so much good advice for my show - I love connecting with the amazing Drag scene, learning from others.
Speaking of connecting – do you know who has some incredible stories to share with you? One of my favorite podcasters – it's called “Drag, You've Got This,” a little something I'm really into right now!
Now you know I'm addicted to travel so naturally the journey to the venue for tonight's show will be fun – The seaside is always a pleasure and I just have a feeling, that as I drive along that beautiful coastline today I might be inspired to design my next outfit right there in the car!
I’m driving down the seaside to the Hove Town Hall – just imagine a pink convertible, driving on the open road, feeling the sunshine, wind, listening to some great tunes – now that's the life !
Hove! You have been absolutely incredible, I will definitely be back again – You will all be wearing tutus, very soon! See you soon Hove - Stay fabulous, and have a good night. See you soon for Post 8576!
