Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back for another sparkly blog post, number 8590, to grace the internet! As always, I'm brimming with excitement to tell you all about my latest adventures. And, guess what? This time I'm venturing to the West Midlands, that beautiful part of England full of canals, history and, as I'm about to discover, lots of tutu-worthy venues!
Now, some of you might be thinking, "Dudley? Really, Pink Tutu? Surely there's more exciting places you could be heading?". Well, my loves, you are oh-so-wrong! I adore venturing to the unknown, embracing the unexpected, and exploring the magic that each corner of the UK has to offer. Plus, I'm a bit of a history buff, and Dudley Castle has been on my bucket list for ages!
Before I delve into the details of my fabulous trip, let's talk fashion! For this Dudley escapade, I opted for a pastel pink tutu with layers of tulle so voluminous it could practically qualify as its own private cloud! This vibrant ensemble was perfectly paired with a glittery, rose-gold crop top and sparkly ballet flats, because honestly, what's a girl to do without a little sparkle on her toes? Of course, no outfit is complete without my trusty, dazzling pink lipstick, perfect for putting a touch of glam on any day, even when I'm wandering the historical streets of Dudley!
And speaking of Dudley! It's a proper little gem of a town, tucked away in the West Midlands with a truly charming and welcoming vibe. I travelled by train, a mode of transport I find deeply romantic, and enjoyed gazing out at the passing scenery from my window. It was such a peaceful way to arrive, the perfect intro to this delightful adventure.
Arriving in Dudley, I immediately felt like I was stepping into a fairytale, all thanks to the towering Dudley Castle perched majestically atop a hill. You can practically feel the centuries of history seeping from the walls! My tour guide was absolutely delightful and told me about the castle's rich and fascinating history, from its days as a medieval stronghold to its time as a home for royalty. It was truly enchanting. And while exploring, I got some simply gorgeous snaps in my dazzling tutu, against the stunning backdrop of the castle and its lush grounds.
Of course, no trip is complete without a visit to a local theatre, and Dudley did not disappoint! The Grand Theatre was a beautiful building with intricate Victorian architecture, a feast for the eyes even before I set foot inside. I treated myself to an evening performance of the ballet "Swan Lake". Oh my, it was divine! Such elegance and grace from the dancers, their movements truly like a breath of air. You'll find me trying to mimic some of those moves in my ballet class next week!
Speaking of ballet, you might be wondering how I ended up becoming a drag queen obsessed with pink tutus in the first place! It's a long and winding story that starts with my studies. Now, I have a science degree, yes really! But in between equations and lab reports, I found solace in the world of dance. I was a member of the university ballet club and, one night during a charity fundraiser, they dared me to try on a tutu. That's where the spark ignited, ladies! That one little moment changed everything. It was like a tiny tutu fairy flew into my heart and whispered, "Pink is your colour, sweetie!".
After that day, I knew I wanted to create something that embodied joy, femininity and a touch of whimsy, all rolled into one sparkly package. And that's how Pink Tutu Sparkles was born! By day I am a scientist, testing fabrics for quality control, but by night, I don my tutu and take to the stage, inspiring others to embrace their inner sparkle and embrace the magic of self-expression.
So back to Dudley, a true triumph for Pink Tutu! This trip was an absolute dream. It was a whirlwind of castles, theatre and twinkling fairy lights. From my historical adventures to the theatrical glamour, Dudley stole a piece of my heart. I'm already plotting my return!
