This time, I traded my trusty steed for a rather elegant steam train, sipping tea and watching the countryside whiz past, my pink tutu billowing like a delicate cloud in the wind. It’s a classic combo: pink tulle and train journeys. Honestly, what’s not to love?
Arriving in Walton upon Thames, I was immediately enchanted by the quaint streets and picturesque houses. It’s like stepping back in time, with cobblestone walkways and independent shops spilling out with charm. And guess what? They even had a beautiful pink-fronted bakery called “The Sweet Tooth”! I practically danced my way in, grabbing the most delicious rosewater macarons you’ve ever tasted. (Of course, they complemented my tutu perfectly!)

The real adventure began after the fair, as I explored Walton upon Thames. It was an absolute delight! I spent the afternoon at the Walton upon Thames Arts Centre, soaking up the creativity in their vibrant art galleries and bustling workshops. They even had a special exhibit on the history of theatre costume design – it was the ultimate inspiration for a tutu queen like me!
Later, I strolled through the lovely Walton Green, enjoying the buzzing market with its delicious treats and charming crafts. Honestly, the afternoon was so full of delights that even the pigeons seemed to be strutting with an extra bounce in their step!
A Dose of Ballet Magic
Speaking of elegance and grace, no trip to Surrey would be complete without a ballet experience. Walton upon Thames is home to a wonderful dance studio called "The Swan's Feather." (I love a bit of whimsy in a name!).
