I travelled here, as always, in style. Couldn't resist the romance of the train journey - there's something about watching the world fly by that gets the creative juices flowing! And as I was looking out the window, I had a sudden realisation: This blog has been all about dazzling venues and fancy shows, but hasn't focused enough on the journey itself. Every adventure begins with that first step - and for me, it often starts on the platform, clutching my little suitcase (always adorned with a sparkly pink bow, of course) and waiting for the steam engine to chug us to our destination!
Now, Dunstable. It wasn't quite the Parisian ballroom I'd envisioned for my performance. It wasn't a glitzy West End theatre or a bustling seaside cabaret. It was... a pub.
