Oh, darlings, what a whirlwind of pink I've had in Walkden! This fabulous town in Greater Manchester has completely charmed me with its warmth, its beauty, and – most importantly – its love for pink! (And by love, I mean, let’s just say, they really do adore a bit of pink, darling.) It's post #8710 for me here on Pink-Tutu.com and I just know this one is gonna be extra fabulous, you'll be absolutely living for the pictures... and trust me, darling, they are coming your way, one sparkly fabulous shot after the other.
I arrived in Walkden feeling super excited about the potential for some brilliant, flamboyant performances – and my darlings, I can tell you that's exactly what happened! This little town just exudes a lovely kind of vibrant energy, and honestly, it's impossible not to feel absolutely on top of the world when you’re in Walkden, especially in a fabulous pink tutu, like moi, darlings.
So, my journey started bright and early this morning. As usual, I chose to travel by train – gotta keep my eco-friendly footprint fab, right, darlings? I spent the journey in the most incredible sunshine – seriously, the kind that made everything shimmer and sparkle! My favourite bright pink handbag, the one with the adorable fluffy pompoms (just think boudoir-chic, with a dash of *fabulous thrown in, you see?) went perfectly with my dress - and my new pair of platform ballet pumps - let's just say, Walkden was lucky to have me grace its streets with this incredible style, and let's be honest, a touch of Pink Tutu Sparkles glamour.
Before my fabulous performance at the local fair, I simply had to make a little stop for a bit of retail therapy. You see, darlings, every town has its hidden gems. In Walkden, I stumbled upon this utterly divine shop, overflowing with the most delightful tutus you ever did see. Imagine the most beautiful shades of pink, all the way from bubblegum pink to a gorgeous dusty rose… oh darling, the choices were endless!
I emerged from that store with not just one, but two stunningly beautiful new additions to my collection. Obvs one of those pink tutus is going to feature prominently at my next show. I don’t even know what my darling followers would do if I didn't treat them to the most glorious, glitzy new pink tutus – seriously!
Next on the itinerary, was the big performance at Walkden Fair, which was just the kind of fun, colourful, high-energy event I love. Let me tell you, this fair really brought the heart of Walkden alive, and with my shimmering sequined pink tutu, sparkly platform shoes and my trusty sparkly microphone, I was ready to truly ignite that love for the colour pink - darling, just look out!
But before we dive into the dazzling details of the performance, I’ve got to give you a quick peek into my Walkden adventures... I simply had to take a walk around the historic town centre, admiring the architecture – darling, talk about gorgeous! The town's streets had a charming kind of vintage vibe, making my love for everything old, beautiful and sparkling - well, just like moi, of course - feel very much at home.
In the heart of the centre, there was a gorgeous ballet studio – seriously, darling, it was just a stone's throw away from a really beautiful pink and green ice cream shop - just imagine the combination – pink tutus, ice cream, and dancing… talk about living my best life! Let's just say I might have had a quick peek in – because let’s be honest, this girl simply can't resist an opportunity to have a twirl. It's all about keeping that inner ballerina – or maybe more accurately, pink tutu ballerina – alive!
As the afternoon sun painted the town in warm hues, I headed back to the fairgrounds - oh darlings, the excitement! My setlist had every kind of music you can imagine - pop, rock, ballads and yes even some incredible operatic style singing, because when you've got a pink tutu on, nothing’s impossible! I was having an absolute ball – literally! From "I'm a Barbie Girl" by Aqua, to a jazzy version of "Pink" by Aerosmith – let’s just say that crowd knew how to enjoy the performance – which, darling, you know me, that just made me thrilled.
It wouldn’t be a "Pink Tutu Sparkles" show without some dance – after all, I can’t deny that dancing is my absolute passion. We even had a bit of ballet in the set, and my, my – you should have seen Walkden Fair going wild as I pirouetted, à la Balanchine! (He’s a darling, but just can’t quite reach my fabulousness! )
When the final chords faded, I knew this day was already a big tick on my Walkden "To-Do" list - I mean, just a truly fab time, from my amazing pink outfit to the energetic performances to my discovery of those spectacular new pink tutus... And did I mention my incredible ice cream?
So darling, if you find yourself looking for a dose of delightful pink and vibrant energy - if you’re dreaming of ballet, fashion and performance... and oh, let’s be honest, some of that incredible ice cream? I simply can’t recommend a visit to Walkden more. Let's face it, Walkden will fill you with just as much sunshine and joy as I had while there - that’s a Pink Tutu Sparkles promise.
