Didcot Daze! Pink Tutu Sparkles' 8725th Post 🩰✨

Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you the glitz and glamour straight from Didcot! This little town might not seem like the most glamorous spot, but let me tell you, I turned those drab streets pink, one twirl at a time!

As always, let's delve into this fabulous journey! This week's adventure started with a gloriously scenic train journey. Now, I know some of you love planes, but give me a plush train carriage with a hot cuppa any day. And speaking of plush, you'll never guess what I wore on this grand voyage - a sparkling pink tutu, of course! It just wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without it.

Arriving in Didcot, I was struck by the quiet charm. You see, I have this thing about charming, quaint places. There's just something magical about finding little treasures hidden in unexpected places. After dropping off my suitcase at a little B&B called "The Twirling Teapot" (yes, it really existed!), I set off to explore.

My first stop had to be Didcot Railway Centre. It was fascinating! All those locomotives, some as old as my Nan's favourite teapot, got my heart racing with excitement! You see, my dear followers, trains are more than just a means of transportation to me - they are symbols of freedom, of exploring new horizons! Of course, I couldn't resist taking some pictures in my pink tutu by a magnificent steam engine. Oh, the stories it could tell!

After that delightful history lesson, my sweet tooth led me straight to the Didcot Maltings. Now, you're thinking, "Alex, is this a pub?" Well, my loves, it's more than just that! This Victorian brewery was full of incredible smells and, most importantly, delicious food and drink. I enjoyed the finest local ale with my usual, delightful salad. No one can say I don't eat my greens!

Now, here's the kicker – Didcot might be known for trains and brewing, but its little-known secret lies in its connection to ballet! A community ballet school called "Twirl & Dream" had invited me to guest-star in their end-of-term recital! I, of course, happily agreed! After all, ballet and I are old friends.

Oh, the joy of sharing my love for the art form with these bright-eyed young dreamers! I felt my own heart skip a beat as they, full of enthusiasm, performed graceful leaps and turns. The little girl in front row dressed as a Pink Tutu Sparkles, that's when I truly knew the magic of this place.

So, my lovely darlings, did you catch me dazzling the crowds at Didcot’s very own little theatre?

In my heart, Didcot might have just a small-town heart, but it has a huge soul! You know what they say, 'Big dreams, small town,' right? My heart felt like it grew about three sizes as I shared my joy, my love, and most importantly my sparkle, with these beautiful souls.

And I'll tell you something else that melted my heart; I saw people wearing pink tutus everywhere in the streets, at the market, and at the train station! It felt like the world had finally embraced my mission, you know, that thing where I want to spread the magic of pink tutus far and wide. My message seems to be slowly reaching those wonderful, supportive people everywhere! I almost burst into a grand pirouette!

As I'm typing this, I'm sipping my morning coffee while watching the sun rise over this charming little town, my favourite colour pink reflecting off the houses. The thought fills my heart with warmth and joy. It’s time to pack my pink suitcase, it’s another adventure for me – and you’ll have to wait and see where it takes me.

Keep those tutus spinning! Xoxo, Pink Tutu Sparkles

P.S. Did you know, you can find me performing at all sorts of places. This month alone, I will be strutting my stuff at the Grimsby Fair and the Manchester Theatre Royal! Keep an eye out for me and let’s twirl into some fun!
