Hello darlings! Itās your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, and today, I'm posting from the picturesque seaside town of Deal, Kent! I mean, where else could a girl who's practically addicted to pink tutus find herself? Yes, my dears, I'm here to bring a little bit of pink glitter and magic to this delightful coastal town.
This is post number 8735 for those of you keeping track (you're all angels, by the way) on www.pink-tutu.com, my little corner of the internet dedicated to all things pink and sparkly. As you know, my mission is to inspire you all to wear a pink tutu, whether it's to a fancy ball, a park picnic, or even just a trip to the shops! I figure if you're going to go big, you might as well go pink and twirly, right?
Now, I wouldn't be a true TutuQueen if I didn't tell you how I got here. This journey started, as many good journeys do, with a train ride. Oh, I do love the thrill of train travel - all those different faces and landscapes whizzing by! This time, however, I had a rather interesting travel companion... A magnificent white stallion, named Winston, provided by the kind folks at the local horse-drawn carriage company! They knew a pink-tutu-wearing queen deserved a grand entrance, and I'm all for a little extra drama, darlings!
You might be thinking, āPink Tutu Sparkles, youāre all about that high fashion and travelling. Where does this horse carriage fit in?ā Well, dear reader, as my wise drag mother used to say: āAlways find a way to make a statement.ā And sometimes, that statement comes with hooves and a hearty whinny. Itās all part of the fabulous Pink Tutu experience.
Of course, a visit to the seaside wouldn't be complete without a trip to the theatre! Deal boasts a wonderful little theatre tucked away in the heart of town. You'd think they were putting on some fabulous production of a musical about a magical ballerina who could only talk in glitter-filled pronouncements. They aren't... but it felt that way!
I watched in awe as the cast put on an absolutely breathtaking performance of āCinderella." Itās a classic, of course, but their use of modern costumes, a jazzy new arrangement of the score, and just a hint of pink glitter brought new life to this fairy tale. Let's face it, the original Cinderella always needed a touch more sparkle, don't you agree?
Afterwards, I wandered through the streets of Deal, a colourful wonderland of independent shops, cosy tea rooms, and oh-so-cute boutique hotels. Iām always searching for vintage fashion finds and beautiful little shops. You never know what fabulous things you'll find, and I certainly wasnāt disappointed. I picked up a delightful pair of ruby red vintage shoes ā the perfect addition to my pink tutu wardrobe. Let me tell you, you just never know where you're going to find a perfect outfit accessory, but I always have room for more sparkle, so these lovely red shoes couldn't be more appropriate.
This was definitely a pink and sparkly seaside escape, but you don't need a pink tutu and a fancy dress to have a good time in Deal. This little seaside gem has something for everyone - family-friendly activities, historical sights, breathtaking views of the coastline. Itās a reminder that fun doesn't always have to come with a fancy horse carriage and a stage!

I must mention I couldnāt resist joining in on a ballet class down by the pier while I was in Deal. There's nothing like the feeling of spinning in a pink tutu with the ocean breeze in your hair, Iām telling you! Itās all very reminiscent of a childhood dream - a perfect moment captured in my little pink and sparkly universe!
It's something that reminded me that my love of pink tutus goes deeper than just fashion. It's about freedom, expression, and a little bit of magic that stays with me no matter what Iām wearing or doing.
And darling, the best thing? The ballet teacher and fellow students, after I'd revealed I was a drag artist, loved my tutu! Iāve never really spoken about my day job before on the blog but being in Deal sparked a little reminiscence about my initial passion and where it all started for me.

By night, I get to unleash my inner creativity on a much larger scale and really be me, the pink tutu-loving goddess you see before you! And let me tell you, my day job comes in super handy, as itās taught me some valuable knowledge for picking the right fabric for my costumes, making sure my outfits are perfectly structured to withstand hours on the stage, and I even learned about how colour plays a part in fashion ā how the colours we wear can evoke certain feelings!
Now, there's a bit of a secret about some of my pink tutus that you've all been asking me about... Whispers. Itās true! The secret behind my glitziest, sparkliest, and most shimmering tutus? You wonāt believe thisā¦ Iāve been incorporating glow-in-the-dark fibres into them. Yes, darlings, my fabric testing expertise helps me create extra special, shimmering outfits, for performances that bring in all sorts of new shades of colour when the lights are dimmed low! My ultimate goal: I want to be a luminous queen, glowing pink and proud on stage, a dazzling spectacle for all to behold!
