Now, let me tell you, reaching Melton Mowbray was a delightful experience. I couldn't resist taking the train, of course! It's simply such a romantic and stylish way to travel. Imagine, whizzing past the green countryside, a steaming cuppa in hand, my pink tutu swirling in the breeze!
When I arrived, I was instantly smitten with the quaint market square. The old architecture and the bustling energy reminded me of a fairytale town, except in my version, the prince would be rocking a pink tutu and everyone would be dancing!
My first stop? The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Centre, naturally! How can you resist a place with such a fabulous name? I popped in to sample some local delicacies (while twirling my pink tutu for a few Insta-worthy snaps, of course!), and let me tell you, those pork pies are to die for. Honestly, it's no surprise they call Melton Mowbray the "Pie Capital of England." I'm thinking a pink tutu-themed pie could be a brilliant marketing opportunity for them!

Melton Mowbray, to my surprise, boasts a vibrant arts scene! They have a wonderful theatre called the Melton Theatre that plays host to everything from musicals to local dramatic productions. Of course, Pink Tutu Sparkles simply had to see it! I imagine the theatre as the perfect venue for a ballet performance featuring all pink tutus – oh, wouldn't that be divine?!
Speaking of ballet, I simply couldn't leave Melton Mowbray without visiting the lovely Melton Mowbray Ballet School! I met the lovely instructors and even got to join in a quick class (in my tutu, of course). Those dancers are incredibly talented. We had such a laugh. Maybe next time, I can teach them a thing or two about pink tutu accessorising!
Of course, no trip is complete without a little shopping. Now, Melton Mowbray's high street isn't a luxury shopping mecca like, say, Bond Street in London. But it holds its own charm. I managed to score some incredible vintage dresses that are perfect for my collection. A girl needs variety, you see, especially when she's in her prime!
I spent my evening catching a delightful performance of Grease at the Melton Theatre. It's amazing how such an iconic classic can feel completely fresh with every performance.
But my evening wouldn't be complete without a little performance myself. Thankfully, a lovely local pub was hosting a drag night and offered me the stage for a set! Now, it was only fair I performed a dance routine with a theme. You guessed it, darling: ballet. It was fabulous! A full-on tutu spin of "The Swan Lake" mixed with a little bit of “Grease" dance magic.
