Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another post! Today, I'm buzzing with excitement because I'm about to embark on a magical journey to Westhoughton, a town that, if I'm being honest, I haven't quite found on the map yet! But that's part of the thrill, isn't it? The adventure of the unknown, the excitement of exploring new places, and the promise of maybe even meeting a few fab new faces!
This time, however, I'm not just winging it - I'm making my way to Westhoughton to perform at a local venue, spreading a little sparkle and a whole lotta love for pink tutus along the way! Oh, and if you see me there, don't be shy - come say hello! A chat with a fabulous fan always makes my day.
Speaking of travelling, now, there are two ways to get my Pink Tutu Sparkles heart racing: the smooth glide of a train carriage whizzing past the countryside or the exhilarating trot of a good horse, its hooves drumming a beat against the cobblestones. For this journey, however, it's all about the rails. It’s just so dreamy to settle into a comfy carriage, nose stuck in a good book while the world goes rushing by.
And, of course, the fun part is getting my look just right for the trip! You know I’m not one for understated travelling, so imagine me in my signature pink outfit: a floaty pink skirt, topped with a sequined pink top that sparkles like a galaxy of dreams, finished with a hot pink bolero, and of course, a pink tutu cascading down my legs! The perfect travelling ensemble for a Queen like me, don't you think?
I’m packing a little bag filled with all the essentials for a successful tour: a trusty lip gloss (can't go a day without that!), my sparkly make-up, and a few strategically placed bobby pins for any wardrobe mishaps. Oh, and let's not forget the essentials - a stash of those little pink jelly sweets for those train ride munchies!
By the way, my loves, you may not know this about me, but by day, I'm actually a bona fide scientist! Well, a bit of a boring one by comparison. My little laboratory has all kinds of bubbling beakers and swirling test tubes... but it's not nearly as exciting as a dazzling stage show, that's for sure! Honestly, sometimes I’m so deep in a world of atoms and molecules that I just crave that blast of glitz and glam that a fabulous drag performance brings. And there’s something so freeing about stepping out from my lab coat and transforming into Pink Tutu Sparkles, that bold and bubbly alter-ego I’ve nurtured for years.
Now, it's probably time to tell you a little about my beginnings as a tutu queen. Remember, you can never have enough pink tutu lore! (My dear blog readers are obsessed, believe me!). This little journey all started with a little scientific experimentation... yes, a rather literal one, actually. I was studying science at university and, with all that rigorous studying, well, let's just say a bit of fun was required to keep my sanity. And the fun, it turned out, could be found in a sparkly tutu.
I joined the university ballet club. I loved twirling and the rhythmic grace of the ballet moves, and then the club decided to raise some money with a "Tutu Night"! I hesitantly put on a tutu - you know how some of us can be, shy about these things... It was hot pink, naturally. It was so incredibly empowering - I felt utterly confident and so darn happy, twirling like there was no tomorrow. The world seemed to sparkle just a little bit brighter that night!
And the rest, as they say, is history. My little university adventure blossomed into this extraordinary journey, travelling across the land (and often the world!), sharing the magic of tutus with everyone I meet. It's an unspoken dream to bring that joy of dressing up in tutus, that liberating feeling of confidence and self-expression to the whole wide world, and I'm here to say, with every dazzling performance and every new town I discover, that dream is getting closer with each passing day.
So, keep an eye out, Westhoughton, because I'm coming for you! Pink Tutu Sparkles is here to make the place shine just a little brighter, and spread the love for pink tutus with every graceful step and every glittering dance move. It's going to be an absolutely divine night!
