London Calling! Pink Tutu Sparkles Hits the Big Smoke 🩰

Hello my darlings! Your favourite tutu-toting, pink-obsessed queen is back, this time bringing the sparkle to London! This post has been a long time coming, as you know London has always held a special place in my heart – just ask my bank manager who always gets a fright when I’m about to visit. But fear not, lovelies, as this trip wasn’t fuelled by shopping sprees this time (well, not entirely). This time, Pink Tutu Sparkles was on a mission… to make the capital city glitter even more!

As always, the journey started in Derbyshire. Now, you might be thinking "a pink-clad queen in the Peak District? Sounds strange." But darling, my love for trains knows no bounds! A comfy carriage seat and a scenic view through the window – you can't beat it!

Reaching Kings Cross was a proper "pinch-me" moment. Just imagine it: your Pink Tutu Sparkles, perched upon a suitcase bursting with enough tulle to create a mini-ballet company, gazing at that iconic brick façade. It was straight out of a fairytale! But there was no time for dawdling – this Pink Tutu needed to make a grand entrance.

And grand it was, my darlings! I had been booked to perform at the London Drag and Burlesque Festival – and you know Pink Tutu Sparkles never shies away from a challenge! I practically sashayed down the street, with enough glitter to rival the Piccadilly Lights!

The performance? Oh, it was sheer magic! My act included a delightful mix of ballet, a cheeky twist of burlesque and of course, the obligatory tutus! A sprinkle of sparkles here, a pirouette there – it had the audience gasping, clapping, and shouting for more. Just the way Pink Tutu Sparkles likes it!

But the real magic wasn’t just onstage. The festival itself was a riot of colour, music, and joyful energy. Drag queens of all shapes, sizes, and glitter levels strutted their stuff – and let me tell you, there was more than enough talent to go around! From fierce lipsyncing to glamorous stand-up, every act had a special flavour.

However, Pink Tutu Sparkles had more in store than just performing. This trip was all about soaking up the culture! Now, who better than Pink Tutu to take in a real, genuine ballet performance? And who could resist the charm of the Royal Opera House? It was an evening of elegance and beauty. Just as much grace and style I see when I go to ballet class every Wednesday, just a much grander stage!

The dance itself was utterly mesmerising – swirling skirts, powerful jumps, and delicate movements all played out in front of my wide-eyed self. Oh, how I wish I could just teleport into the stage, just for one little pirouette. Then again, I would be scared I’d trip! The choreography, the costumes, the atmosphere – it was a total dream come true for a queen like me!

After that incredible performance, Pink Tutu naturally went on a grand tour of the city! Shopping in Knightsbridge is an absolute joy, I don't even have to tell you. Let's just say, Pink Tutu now has an enviable collection of tutus (of course, all in various shades of pink!) and some pretty fabulous shoes to go with them.

And because we all know how much Pink Tutu loves a good old horse-drawn carriage, I was fortunate enough to grab a ride through Hyde Park – all decked out in my brightest pink tutu, of course! I’m telling you, that view of Kensington Palace was divine!

Before leaving London, Pink Tutu had to make one last stop, an absolutely essential visit: the Victoria and Albert Museum. Why? It has one of the most extensive costume collections in the world! The textiles! The embroidery! The history of dress and fashion! It was like a feast for the senses – and just gave Pink Tutu more ideas for her own fabulous performances.

I could gush about this trip for ages, my lovelies, but for now, I shall bid you farewell. Pink Tutu is heading back to the Midlands, suitcase bursting with memories, inspiration, and a whole load of new pink tutus! Stay tuned for more adventures and fabulousness in my upcoming blog posts!

And remember, my darlings, life is too short to be boring – wear pink, twirl with joy, and always sparkle like Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles

XOXO
