Hello darlings! Welcome to my blog, Pink Tutu Sparkles. This is post number 8820, and it’s all about my incredible trip to Rotherham, a little town in Yorkshire that stole my heart!
As usual, I got to Rotherham by train – nothing quite beats a nice leisurely journey with a cuppa and a good book. Plus, it gives me plenty of time to plan my outfit for the show! This time, I knew I had to go for something really dramatic and glamorous – after all, I was heading to a town famous for its steelworks and heritage.
Speaking of glam, let’s talk about my look! I decided on a full-blown pink and silver theme. Think shimmering sequins, layers of tulle, and a magnificent pink feather boa that would make a peacock envious. Of course, no look is complete without a giant pink tutu – the fluffier, the better!
My sparkly headpiece, made entirely of handmade flowers, took hours to create, and I just knew it was going to be the perfect statement piece. The shimmering makeup – a symphony of pink, purple and silver - was my pièce de résistance. All that was left was a final spritz of glitter and I was ready to rock Rotherham!
My venue this time was a lovely, historic pub called the “Jolly Sailor”. Now, I’ve done gigs in all sorts of places, but a cosy pub was a real treat. I think my bright pink outfit contrasted nicely with the warm, wood-panelled interior!
I performed my usual blend of ballet moves, comedy skits, and pop tunes - always adding my own little twist, of course. The audience was incredible - everyone was so friendly, and they roared with laughter at my jokes. The energy was amazing – you could feel it pulsating through the air!
You know how I love to interact with my audiences. This time, it involved a spontaneous game of ‘spin the bottle’ where the lucky audience member was invited to come on stage and join me for a duet! Let me tell you, those guys are good sports! One chap from the audience even managed to flawlessly execute a fouetté. Honestly, I was impressed!
And what would a trip to Rotherham be without a visit to the Rotherham Minster? Now, this isn't just your average church - the stained glass windows are incredible, and there’s this incredible feeling of peace and tranquillity within the stone walls. I even managed to sneak in a couple of twirls for a picture - because, let's face it, a pink tutu looks fantastic against any backdrop, even a medieval church!
I had the most amazing time in Rotherham. I can’t wait to return!
But before we go, let’s talk about some travel advice – Rotherham is very accessible, just hop on a train! I'm a big fan of train journeys. For those of you who are really fancy, I’m trying to train a team of Shetland ponies to pull my pink tutu-themed carriage. Don’t worry, they'll be wearing tutus too. It'll be amazing, you’ll have to see it!
But if you’re looking for a fun day out with a dash of pink sparkle, head to Rotherham, a little town with a big heart. Trust me, you won't regret it!
Remember, darlings, life's too short to wear beige!
XOXO,
Pink Tutu Sparkles
