Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in live from sunny (well, hopefully sunny!) North Shields! 💅✨ This is post number 8973, because this fabulous diva just can't stop spreading the love, the sparkle, and of course, the pink tutu!
Today I'm buzzing about my upcoming gig at the North Shields Arts Centre. It's gonna be epic! I'm picturing a packed house, everyone roaring with laughter and applauding like there's no tomorrow, and best of all, I get to shimmy and shake my sequins in that gorgeous vintage tutu I found last week in a vintage shop down in Derbyshire, home of yours truly, cough cough that's right, this queen came from humble beginnings. Think of this post as a peek behind the curtain – or should I say, a glimpse under the tutu? 😁
Speaking of tutus, I absolutely adore that feeling of twirling in a billowing pink tutu, it's like flying on air. I mean, who needs wings when you have a tutu?! Plus, imagine all the compliments - "Wow, Pink Tutu Sparkles, you look absolutely smashing!". "Where did you get that amazing pink tutu?", And then I get to reply with the biggest grin and say, "Darling, it's a secret, wink."
This trip up to North Shields has been such a delightful experience, you know, ever since I set off from my little Derbyshire village on that magnificent steam train. Now, I know, I know, some would say "Pink Tutu Sparkles, why are you riding a train instead of flying? The plane would have been much quicker." Well darlings, have you ever considered that the charm of a train journey? Watching the countryside roll by, enjoying a good cuppa, and maybe even sneaking in a little ballet class right in the middle of the carriages!
Yes, that's right, my dears, I like to combine the joy of traveling with the joy of dance! When I travel I don't just enjoy my surroundings, I look for opportunities to dance, even if it means a impromptu performance in a railway station. You never know when an opportunity for a tutu to pop up. 💃
But before I let my daydreams run wild and transport me to a dream world where everyone is twirling in a pink tutu, let's talk a bit about how Pink Tutu Sparkles arrived in North Shields in the first place. Well, you know I just love to explore and visit different towns and cities – I get my inspiration from all the amazing people, the colourful buildings and street art, the delicious smells from street food stalls – ahh that aroma of fish and chips, it just sends my taste buds on a rollercoaster!
And how does Pink Tutu Sparkles fund all this fabulous traveling and sparkly tutus? Well, darlings, the show must go on! So every chance I get, you'll find me dazzling a crowd in my dazzling pink tutus and spreading the pink tutu gospel wherever I go.
This all began way back in Derbyshire, when I was studying to be a scientist. (Who would have thought a science nerd could turn into a drag superstar? 😂 ) I was a member of the university ballet club and for charity, I agreed to try on a pink tutu. Well, the rest, as they say, is history. The moment I slipped into that silky, feathery dream, it was as if sparkles erupted from my very being! Now I work in a lab, testing fabric - pretty cool, huh? – by day and performing under my pink tutu at night!
I truly believe that everyone should have a chance to feel as sparkly and radiant as they are in a pink tutu!

In North Shields I'll be bringing you a show full of giggles, a generous dollop of sequins and sparkle, and some serious dance moves, so get ready for an unforgettable night. This week I am serving some absolutely spectacular drag performance with a few hints of classic ballet inspired dance moves, a touch of Broadway style flair, all set to some absolutely fabulous 80s music with a few of your favourite dance hits from other era thrown in for good measure. You will just have to come and see for yourselves, darlings!
